Referee

Apart from one throw in near the end what were his big mistakes? @Matnab nails it when he says we'll only be happy when all type contentious decision going in our favour. At times it was quite niggily with a few fouls in quick succession but the ref can't do fuck all about that

Do you and @darius think you'd ever make the mistakes we see the officials do in these games? How many more have you got to see before you realise it's a lot more difficult than you think?

Anyone on here who thinks they could referee a league match and manage to get through the first 5 minutes without getting a police escort out of the ground hasn't got a clue. Maybe watch a game from pitch level and you might get vaguely close to understanding what it's like to referee a match.

Can't really remembering the officials getting much wrong. Didn't see the throw in thing people are talking about though.

Couldn't believe people were going mental at the lino for their goal. Clear as day the player was in his own half when the ball was played.

He booked five of there players
Should have been more. Every dangerous situation they simply fouled, or tried to foul, the player in possession. If blue cards were in play they would have been down to seven men at one time.
If its cynical (and dangerous), as the one when Dan Niel broke free, a red should be given cover or not!

The ref was absolutely abysmal the whole game. As was the lino on the East Stand side. Utterly clueless and was literally shitting himself whenever he had to make a decision.
In the first half their centre half was basically holding Rusyn in a bear hug right in front of the gonk and he just stood looking and talking in his microphone as though he was asking the ref what should he do. He ended up doing fuck all. Horrendous.

Hi Mr Happy

Didn’t really think much major happened in the game for him to get wrong…..there was the usual inconsistency in awarding of general free kicks and issuing of yellow cards but nowt we don’t see every week imo

I've never seen a single post on here where this alleged inconsistency has worked in Sunderland's favour.

And Rusyn had a hold of him too.
I too was in the East Stand.
6 and two 3's in my opinion.

Nonsense. The defender hauled him back and then grabbed him . Yes Rusyn put his arms back to try and push the defender off because the lino was standing watching, shaking like a shitting dog and doing fuck all. He was absolutely wank ??

Never seen a ref being hit by the ball so many times and a lot of the time he was standing in the way of the player with the ball .
Weird.
