Flintoff Savage and The Ping Pong guy is fantastic

usually discuss 3 topics relating to sport (the mental health one is a great listen)

actually started to like Robbie Savage which I thought was impossible

Flintoff Savage & The Ping Pong Guy is a cracking podcast
I'm currently working my way through the Dubland podcast (the one Chris Moyles talks about as its his cousin who does it) which I'm finding hilarious but it wont be to everyone's taste

50 things that made the modern economy by Tim Harford. Even if you have no love for/understanding of economics its a cracking listen. Its more about historical inventions/innovations that have massively influenced things today. Each episode is only 10 minutes long so you can listen as & when. Good ones to wet your appetite would be tally sticks, the harber Bosch process & elevators
This is brilliant. There’s a book anarl, but it’s basically the script of the podcast.

Anything new kicking about?

I’m currently doing
Mince
Science-ish
The World War 2 Podcast
Dan Snow’s History Hit
A-Z of psychedelia

Love facts me like
Dan snow’s History Hit is really good anarl. So much variety.

Athetico Mince
Top Flight Time Machine
Newsthing, which is basically the same premise as TFTM but with current affairs

If you can manage hours at a time, Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History is mint. The First World War series; Blueprint for Armageddon is a great listen.

Very interesting. Amazing what they can deduce from some old bones.
The History of the World in 100 objects is decent if you like old stuff and what they can tell from it.

I’ve got, in my queue:

From Our Own correspondant - Katie Adie gathers quick stories from journalists around the world. Good for finding out shit you didn’t realise was going on.

The Infinite Monkey Cage - if you like Science and can stand Brian Cox.

More or Less - great for stattos and breaking down bullshit in the news.

Our Man in the Middle East - Jeremy Bowen from the bbc talks about his time in the ME through some of the key times, like the assassination of Rahbin, and how the ME ended up like it has. 15 mins an episode, we’ll worth listening.

Overdue - basically a book club by two American geezers. Quite funny and interesting, books you’ve been meaning to read but haven’t.

Pod Save America. Long but sometimes good

Reasons to be Cheerful - Ed Milliband and Geoff Lloyd talking about nice socialist stuff basically like Basic Income, Taxing companies and Climate change.

Sawbones - if you like the history of medicine and finding out about the stupid medical shit we used to do

Serial - if you’ve not listened to season 1 you have to. Most downloaded podcast ever.

Slow Burn - a podcast about Watergate.

Unfiltered with a James O’Brien
Ways to change the world with Krishnan guru Murthy - two podcasts with journalists talking to occasionally interesting people.

What Trump can teach us about Con(stitutional law). Rather brilliant 20 min podcast looking at shit that he does and how it affects or is affected by con law.

Also Brexitcast which is on holiday and Brexit A Love Story that I’ve not started yet, but @Narraback recommended.

I listen to a lot of podcasts.

Edit: Scienceish- two blokes (one a professor) take ideas from films then try and explain the science behind them, like could we actually wipe memories like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, or can we bring people back from the dead like in flatliners, and the science behind it. One of my faves.

Some of those are fantastic. There's a few there I haven't heard. Unfortunately I'm back in the office at work so don't have the time I had when I was driving for a living. I'll download them anyway and hopefully catch up when I can.

Cheapshow,

two mates shouting abuse at each other but also have games around guessing the price of stuff from charity shops and rating various bar snacks and crisps
