When you meet someone abroad
“Where are you from?”
Normal person: “the U.K., England, Germany, etc”
American: “shitwank Alabama, it’s just by cocktip”
I’d agree, I can understand that some musicians and albums become a part of fashion and pop culture but it’s just weird because they don’t have anything to them aside from aesthetic. The ubiquitous nature of New York Yankees caps.
Everywhere.
Like Ramones t-shirt
“Who’s your favourite short stop?”
MC5 are another example. Rachel from Friends wore an MC5 t shirt and I have seen loads of others. Most wearers will never have heard MC5 and if you find someone who has actually heard them you can bet that all they have heard is “Kick out the jams”.I’d agree, I can understand that some musicians and albums become a part of fashion and pop culture but it’s just weird because they don’t have anything to them aside from aesthetic.

My mate once struck up a conversation with a lad wearing a Nirvana in utero shirt and he was unaware of who they were and bought the shirt because he liked the design.
Either that or he didn’t want to talk to my mate, which is understandable because most of the time I dont.

Mind when I go to gigs I like to wear t-shirts that have a connection or comedic connection to the band but never an obvious one.Talking about this yesterday when looking in the gift shop at Silverstone.
