Really minor annoyances

You are incorrect.

Perhaps you are confusing it with

Correctly expressed it is “I AM nauseous”
As I said it's a term that has changed meaning. Currently you can say it quite correctly, I just don't like it.

Oh. I can appreciate that you must find it annoying.

I don’t share that because I don’t recall it ever having a different meaning and I’ve been alive for 3 score years and 10.

Can you point me to a dictionary that states that the definition changed in my lifetime? Just out of interest.

Edit: no need. Found one. Interesting.

corrected. on the road, on the pavement, parked up wherever they like, blocking the pavements, weaving in and out of people walking. I hate them.
There seems to be a fair few of those delivery people use cars not just bikes/motor bikes but your point still stands.

nauseous is so often used to refer to experiencing those feelings that Merriam-Webster Dictionary has updated their of nauseous:

  • feeling like you are about to vomit
  • causing you to feel like you are going to vomit
  • causing disgust

Yes I spotted that site. But that simply confirms that there are two ways to define the word. Not that it changed. My link is more of a historical perspective and a confirmation that it may have changed. But to be honest, I wasn’t sufficiently arsed to read the whole thing to find out when. I thought I’d leave that to somebody who is irritated by it, such as yourself. 👍🏻

When hotels tuck the quilt in under the mattress. So in order to be able to move in the bed you naturally kick the quilt out, but in so doing the sheets also come out. So inevitably after a bit of tossing and turning the sheets get all creased and ruffled. Meaning that hotel beds are never as comfortable as they should be.

Just leave the bloody quilt hanging and do the sheets properly ffs.

Glad I've got that off my chest, to be honest.

I do it before I get in there now. Annoying when you don't as it takes some strength to kick them off otherwise, hate being cocooned like a sleeping bag

The sudden influx of uber drivers in sunderland who couldn't drive to save their life.
Also Deliveroo/Just Eat delivery drivers too - sudden stops in the middle of the road, no signals, U-turns without warning, jump redlights, switch lanes without warning, undertake, dumping their cars anywhere with the doors wide open and music blasting, double parking next to another parked car completely blocking the road at rush hour. Bloody dreadful.

Yellow footballs when there is no snow on the pitch, like ever, due to undersoil heating.

'making memories' - just fuck off

The old plastic ring thing was bad for the environment as they ended up harming wildlife.

There's been loads of work trying to find a solution that keeps cans together, doesn't get damaged in store fridges and is easy to open/seperate. I was involved in auditing stores and collecting feedback on split packs.
Saw these a few years ago. Wish it would catch on as a standard. Be mint to “pic n mix” your beers, screw them together and carry them home.

Bloke in the fast lane of the swimming pool this morning, stood there gassing away for 25 mins. Getting in people's way when we are trying to turn/swim.
Finishes his conversation and proceeds to get out of the pool without swimming a single stroke.
Fuck off to the play side of the pool, you melt.

People who say bomfire instead of bonfire. Thick as shit.
Sammij instead of Sandwich
Tret instead of treated

I could go on....

Must be a younger mackem thing as it's always been known as bommy night as in bomfire. We all know it's bonfire though

Saying things wrong isn't a young person thing, it's an idiot thing.

Same people who can't pronounce the number three properly, think the past tense of treat is 'tret' ffs, and call a mirror a 'mirrow' because they're trying to talk posh.

Another annoyance is the wife buying shit because it might come in handy, then leaving it around the house unused, until I get sick of the sight of it and fling it out.

...or her buying stuff that is "essential" and must get it now....then it sits in the packet on the hall table for a week before I "tidy it up" much to her chagrin. I have a cupboard full of this shit, some of it not cheap either.

Like having 3 teenagers in the house some times...

I know someone who still thinks the big red book the teacher used to read out at the start of the day to make sure all the kids were in attendance was called a 'red chester', rather than register.
