Really minor annoyances

they're trying to talk posh.
This bit baffles me. I've lived in the NE for 3/4 of my life but never really adopted the accent. My in-laws are dyed in the wool Geordies and both of them put on voices when they are on the phone, or pronouncing certain words.

I've never heard so many vowels in the word "no" depending on who they are saying it to...

People tend to be more insecure the further north you go.

Saying things wrong isn't a young person thing, it's an idiot thing.

Same people who can't pronounce the number three properly, think the past tense of treat is 'tret' ffs, and call a mirror a 'mirrow' because they're trying to talk posh.
Its mirra anyway
I know someone who still thinks the big red book the teacher used to read out at the start of the day to make sure all the kids were in attendance was called a 'red chester', rather than register.
Classic

When someone sends you a slack message that only says

> Hi <name> do you oversee department <name> ?

Yes I do, just tell me what you want man instead of messaging me at 10:30 and not asking for anything

This is a great one.

Hi <name>, nice to meet you 🙂

Then waits for a response. I'm not going to respond to that you creepy bastard.

Dunno why. Nowt wrong (wreng) with north eastern accents. As for Scottish accents, some of them melt me heart

Used to work with a clown of a comms lead. She'd send a "hi" message on Skype, then nothing for 3 hours. Usually the request finally came about 5 mins before knocking off time.
It usually got ignored. She hated me.

Same when a mate texts you outside the group chat just mate or you alright? Yeah drop the small talk I’ve known you for 15 years just ask me want you want, normally if I can move something as I have a van, they know I will but they dodge around the question and just annoy me before asking and knowing I’ll just do it.

People who choose not to "bestow" courtesy when they easily can are minor annoyances as per thread.
Have a nice day you loiterer 😄
But you are not choosing not to "bestow " the courtesy of wanting to stop at a zebra crossing to let the pedestrian cross. Suggesting they wait 30 seconds till you pass. I suggest you stop moaning about pedestrians, stop at the zebra crossing (as you are supposed too) after all, it only takes 30 seconds out of your time.

The cheek of ya.

Still I suppose minor annoyances don't have to be logical, fair or legitimate.

Clothes on websites where you can't actually see what the clothing looks like when you're wearing it normally.

Eg: this coat

There's no picture of her standing straight on so I can see how it hangs when it's buttoned. I'm not going to be walking around with the collar up and my hands in my pockets or with it hanging off one shoulder.

another one for zebra crossings - but people who decide to stand right next to them (usually on their phones) so you stop to let them cross, only for them to carry on looking at their phones oblivious.

Happened to me on the way home from work tonight, but she wasn't on her phone, her dog was having a shit. me and the car coming the other way stopped as she's stood on kerb of a zebra crossing. So there's the three of us, with traffic backing up behind, just watching this dog curl one out
