Both players suffer from stick because of the ridiculously high standards they've both set on a consistent basis. Ronaldo is still a truly world class player.

The only negative side to having two truly world class players is the boring comparisons.

"Ronaldo does this" "Messi does that" who honestly cares who's better?

They're both amazing, lets not spoil things by talking down one and bigging up another.
