Came up as confirmed on my OneFootball app on the phone. No idea where they get their info from but they really wait until after the event before putting anything as confirmed normally. They put it as confirmed at 13:15pm today.

Just been to the bookies next door and was chatting to Shirley, (She has come out of retirement and works back there now, 2 days a week, (3 days if Stan is on holiday).

Anyway, we were talking about the mags and that and she looked up that Rafa is 16/1 to be the first manager sacked next season, could be worth a few ££, especially if they lose their first few matches.

Anyone fancy a flutter?
If you can leave the shop right at the start of dinner time, business can't be too good there marra.

Yeah he definitely wants to stay local to the home he's set up with his family near the Wirral. He is being paid handsomely, however I think it's churlish to say that Benitez wouldn't have had his head turned by the outpouring of affection. Some of the rhetoric is obviously playing to the choir, but I honestly do think he would have walked, despite the money being offered, had he not felt any affection for the club.

What do you mean by "affection"?

Gatesheed was my favourite poster.

Can't wait to hear more from the chippie

I "followed" Terry when he arrived just because he knew Gatesheed but he is really letting me down with these threads that promise content but don't deliver. I may have to consider "unfollowing" him if the standard doesn't improve markedly.

Living in one of the most football (soccer) obsessed cities in North America I can wholeheartedly say no one here gives a shit about Newcastle.

There's a handful of supporters, about as many as there are MLFs, and they all have personal reasons to support the mags (family etc). Now they're not in the PL it's as if they don't exist. No TV coverage, nothing. I had to go out of my way to keep up with what was happening in the championship at the back end of this season.....no one here cares about it.

If they're a global brand, no one told US soccer fans about it.

I knew a couple of Mags in the early 90s who went to America and came back cos they didn't like the beer.

Also had a jaunt to Vladivostok as I recall.

The trouble with those stats is that if you compare points per game over the same 10 opponents then McClaren actually got 1.1 ppg. The 10 games of Benitez at 1.3 ppg could easily have dropped below 1 over the 18 additional games played. The ppg when compared over different lengths or against different opponents is meaningless.
Not only that, some of the teams Benitez was playing had naff all to play for.

Or our win against Villa or, or, or,

You have an inability to view the season, (or even Benitez's part of it) as a whole.

I don't.

There is no doubt that he improved you because he did what Rafa does, he shored you up at the back. Sadly for you lot this what also lead to your downfall because you failed to beat the three teams you needed to, which were us, Villa and Norwich. The Villa game was the one which ultimately cost you as they were there for the taking, but Benitez seemed more keen on keeping a clean sheet than beating one of the worst teams the Premier League has ever seen. That performance was woeful and Rafa must shoulder much of the blame.

Will he be a good Championship manager? I don't know but I hope not because I'm convinced if he gets you back up he'll be more than capable of getting you comfortably into the top ten of the Premier League.

Global brand :lol::lol::lol:

Aye mate, you can't move for Mitrovic shirts in downtown Bangkok like. When you get off the plane in Tokyo all they ask about is Arran SHEERA and Rob Ree

Wee club

Well if the Mags have a global brand then we must have one too then considering I bought a Sunderland top in Heredia, Costa Rica last year and the same shop didn't stock Mag tops.
