When Allardyce was at Newcastle they weren't long out of Europe and had just had a take over. They were aspiring to get back up to the top. Then the excitement sponge came in and killed the ambition and atmosphere.

Now Benitez is there they are a shite team that cannot financially compete with the rest of the league and many teams in the division below. They aspire to finish 17th and survive in the league, solid defensive football is a good start for that. Ironically this reason is why Allardyce has constantly gained employment.

Secondly Benitez has won the champions league and proven he knows what he is doing at the top level. Whereas Allardyce has erm ... got to the league cup final in 2004. I see what you're trying to do, but in reality it's a bit daft and not comparable.
He had taken over a side that had just finished 13th and was 11th when sacked.

Pretty sure the only other manager to take them to Europe since before Sams time was Pardew and he wasn’t good either apparently.

I have always maintained Rafa won’t do as well as Pardew did at the mags yet they’ll love him for it whilst hating Pardew.

Very strange.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm both happy and sad for you that you have such low standards. You must have had a very satisfied life as a football fan, sadly one empty of anything if any substance. A bit like Allardyce actually. Hated at every club he has been at who's fans actually want to win something.

He got bolton into europe and a top 10 premiership club.

They got to a cup final. All that from being a nothing club. Football management at its very best. Fact

Chronicle giving Benitez praise for his tactics despite being losing a 2 goal lead but no mention of Mourinho turning round a two goal deficit with some impressive substitutions.

If their hero was that good he would’ve changed his tactics to cope.
They would slate any other manager as they have over the years. Rafa has an easy ride and he knows it. They're too silly to realise he's just taking the piss

Allardyce is a massively underrated manager and hasn't got the big gigs due to his demeanour and Britishness IMO. Wherever he's gone he's done everything that's been required of him.
Allegedly !there is a bounty on BSA heed for rustling cos of all the broon paper envelopes he had to deal with at work! ..its all electronic nowadays so most of the bigger clubs have computers which sammy cannot handle.
