I said I would like to think he would be leaving for a better club than West Ham,no mention of him going to a top class club, for what it’s worth

.... I don’t think a top class club will come in for him.

Of course they won't otherwise he wouldn't have ended up at a club like Newcastle in the first place.

West Ham may be a similar sized club to Newcastle but it will be geographically easier for Benitez to sign players, he'll have money and with owners pledging to back him.

Remove your blinkers and there are sound reasons for Benitez leaving.

Owes you enough to leave Newcastle? Doubt it.

If you were to put a figure on the transfer budget you expect, what would it be?
at least 70m plus whatever comes in from sales. probably more Sullivan knows the fans will be in uproar again otherwise

Am I right in thinking that there was a clause in his contract that if he walked then he had to pay several million to the club? But that that clause expires in June this year?
I’m sure I read that but could equally have dreamt it.

If Newcastle is a well run club with an owner who Dosnt see finishing 17th as an achievement, the manager does not leave to go to West Ham, the only reason this could happen is 100% down to Ashley.

Seen as a lot on here would be happy to see him leave!

I take it we now admitting he is a very good manager?

If he was actually 'a very good manager' he wouldn't have ended up in a relegation battle at a yoyo club.

I'd like him to leave because it would actually break their little hearts.

But Ashley owns the club and can't find a buyer.

You just have to open your eyes and accept that Newcastle aren't the club you'd like them to be.

Even without my red and white glasses on what about the draw of London and the better players he’ll be able to attract there? What about West Ham having a better squad on paper than you meaning he’ll have a better foundation to build on?

I think we all want him to leave them, as their reaction will be very funny, but undoubtedly he is a very good manager.

This has put Ashley in a nightmare situation.

Benitez walks, its clear to everyone no money will be made available for a shopping spree and he is happy ticking along. Also, words greatest journalist, Lee Ryder got the exclusive that take over pended on Rafa being manager, so that will be in doubt
Rafa stays - Ashley has to spend

GRanted we are a mess and I love laughing at our neighbours, but Ashley has a big week coming up
