bollocks. it makes a big difference if you get a side in a state of confusion - we beat Man Utd in a semi final home and away with a relegation battling team - it certainly helped man utd had moyes, if they had fergi or jose we wouldn't have gone through, so yes it is bloody important - you just can't accept or consider anything as a race of people you lot.
 
Looks like we're actually not doing that bad shifting on all the high earners you lot told me we couldn't shift.

So far that's Gouffran, Hanley, De Jong, Riviere, Murphy, Anita with Colback & Lazaar looking likely too.

Sure Gouffran & Anita were out of contract

Rivière & De Jong weren't signed last summer by Rafa

So that's Murphy so far, and apparently Hanley tomorrow. What you getting for him? I am surprised you're shifting him mind

Where's Lazaar going? And Colback wasn't signed last summer either...
 
It wasn't just about the ones we bought to help us win the championship as champions though, it was said about all the deadwood in the squad which we have now shifted a big portion of.

But if you want to talk last season then

10 million Gayle, teams reportedly bidding 15-20 million for his services, but if he doesn't go hes a good squad player in the premier league as his past record shows.

12 million for Ritchie, won't be as effective at this level but has already shown himself to be a key player this season, MOTM against West Ham with an assist already, best of a bad bunch against Huddersfield too.

5 million Clark, a fan favourite and our best player last season and looking decent so far in this one.

4 million Diame, doesn't seem to be going anywhere and is utter toilet, I'll concede that one.

5 million Hanley, looks like hes having a medical at Norwich for a reported 4.5 milion fee, only 500k less than what we paid.

1 million Lazaar, looks to be close to a deal with Bologna.

1 million Gamez, Rafa wants to keep him as a squad player.

3 million Hayden, big potential and will feature heavily this season.

5 million Yedlin, will be our first choice RB ahead of Manquillo when he returns from injury.

All in all a small price to pay for promotion and the bulk of the money will be recouped/or the best of the bunch are being retained for this campaign.

Totally agree with Clark, been a tremendous buy, we have shifted most of the unwanted so job done. A surprise addition is a must up front if we are offloading Gayle as we will be very short upfront, who will get that famous number 9 shirt hmmm.
