Rafa. He's still not happy

Basically they've done as we did under Keane, spent big to get out of the championship, then inevitably lumbered with bang average players on big wages noone can afford to buy and have to sell to buy.

For a club whose fans are obsessive about us they tend to blindly follow our failures.

Keane didn't really spend that much to get us up, the money got wasted once up on players like Anton and McCartney. Think he only spent about £6M that first season and a good few of those ended leaving for money back, Rafa just spunks dosh like it grows on trees anywhere he goes.

We've actually spent quite a bit less than Brighton and Huddersfield (NET)

These are 2 clubs with a fraction of our revenue.

Why is that?

They don't have a fraction of your revenue, it will be maybe £15m a year lower at a guess. they almost certainly will have significantly lower wage bills and looking at net spend in one window doesn't tell the full story.
While I think you probably could/should spend a bit more I don't think think this level of spending should be receiving the derision it is.

Their biggest problem at the minute is that they have a manager who clearly doesn't want to be there, said manager is constantly bleating about how rubbish his players are and lo and behold, the confidence of said players looks shot to bits 2 weeks into the season

It's basically a re-run of Moyes 12 months ago

we were still splashing out £30-50k a week for the likes of Graham Kavanagh, Kenny Cunningham, Dwight Yorke and Stern John.

The season we went up is in my opinion exactly the point where our slow decline began, signing arrogant characters and mercenaries on ludicrous wages, the likes of Chimbonda, El Hadji-Diouf and (albeit on loan) Djibril Cisse.

"REINA SET FOR PSG?

Pepe Reina is set to sign for PSG from Napoli, according to Goal.

The former Liverpool and Barcelona man, 34, will reportedly move for 7.5m euros."

There's another one of their "summer signings" going elsewhere :lol::lol:
