Fans of clubs like ours are left hoping for the Leicester effect, building a miracle squad that gels. Realistically we are getting further and further away from being able to compete. I felt that way last season.

It's not really a gamble, the income is guaranteed. As far as your accounts are concerned it's already showing as an asset now. The only thing that may be stopping you spending it (if there is any intention to ever do so) is Ashley's apparent propensity towards buying players in one lump sum on purchase (which is rare anyway in football) in which case your cashflow may struggle a bit.

Sadly, it's a sign of the times. Too much money in the game as it stands. Somewhere along the line it will all go pearshaped and will have a catastrophic effect on English football IMHO. On one hand I quite like Sky coverage but on the other I see it as a cancer that is spreading

I already said I think he's a good manager?? A 'f***ing good manager' wins top flight league titles imo. He's done brilliantly in cups (usually not more than 10 games) but league titles not so since Valencia. Bearing in mind he's had the budgets and squads to do so! Not taking anything away from the guy but he's not in the bracket that your trying to put him in!

If the crowd can get behind them en masse that'll be worth something. My biggest concern is that Rafa walks and whoever comes in inherits someone else's team and a horrible toxic atmosphere at an increasingly sparsely attended ground.

ive always felt it would be easy to please the fans

get players who work hard, a decent spine to the team, people who can attack and change the game in the squad, if you are playing a shite side at home don't play for a 0-0 and use 7 centre midfielders, have a go at them

bit of pace

sadly sunderland have almost always done the opposite

No matter how many Newcastle supporters come out with this shite, the ones on here deny it's ever been said.

Just like they claim no one has ever said 'Geordie Nation' or 'King Kev' or 'Messiah'.

I'm pretty sure the claim is that the people who says "Geordie Nation" are outliers and not the norm. Just like the horse puncher isn't the norm, and Steve Wraith isn't the norm and so on and so forth.

Why do you use absolutes? "never been said", I've not seen anyone claim that "Geordie Nation," "King Kev" or "Messiah" haven't been uttered. I don't think it's reasonable to use outliers as representative of an entire group . To prejudge someone based on some unusual folk.

Also this is the most brazen example of confirmation bias going, searching specific terms on twitter (of all places) to colour Newcastle fans as A or B. I'm sure it would be possible to trawl Sunderland's twitter to find some lad defending Adam Johnson, should we think of him as representative of Sunderland fans as a whole?

Bit Brexity for my liking. ;)
