'There has been a lot of speculation about his future. What are the issues there?
He was unhappy in January when the goalposts moved. He was unhappy at the start of the current transfer window, when the goalposts moved and he's unhappy now. His hands have been tied in the transfer market. This is not how it was in the brochure, and that did for Keegan ultimately, in 2008, when he was outmanoeuvred by Ashley and his inner team and the club descended into acrimony and its first relegation for 20 years.
Benitez wanted two new players in January and was told no. He wanted four at the start of the current window, and got none. That's half a team. He believed Newcastle had the potential to be a top-five side, but that momentum has gone.
He thought he had more to spend and more control over transfers. It has not happened. This is not what he thought was happening when he left his meeting with Ashley at Shirebrook a matter of days after leading Newcastle United to the Championship title.'
A book about him?! Really? His only achievement so far is to get them back to where they were when he took over for christ's sake! Resurrection. And that's from a professional journalist for the Sunday Times.
Sorry hadn't seen it had already been posted.
Three things will stay the same if Benitez did leave.......we'd still be Newcastle utd. we'd still be in a league above you's this season, and we'd still be deluded![]()

If things do go tits up with Benitez will you still grace us with your presence ?what was it buddy
two things will stay the same if Benitez did leave.......we'd still be the same Newcastle utd that you battered 6 times in a row. and we'd still be in a league above you's for a season. Add in the fact i will continue to sniff around your clubs forum, and if the worst comes to the worst, and he does leave, Big Mike will just employ a new boss, who will be even better than the best manager in the world, that we already have.![]()
To be honest, at the start of the summer things looked better than they do now.
I'd be surprised if Benitez is still our manager at Christmas. Certainly don't expect him to last the season. The board seem to be intent on doing it a different way to the manager, as usual, and I don't think it'll last.
The ones who were happy to work under this administration are the chancers like Pardew, McClaren, Carver and Kinnear. Expect some other useless appointment following the departure of Benitez. Pardew and McClaren have both spoken about the difficult conditions to work under once they've left. Benitez is trying to use the media to turn it to his advantage but the egos of Ashley and Charnley don't take kindly to that, so before long something will give, and Benitez is likely to leave.
ThisI wish you'd fuck off you annoying ****.
