It's hardly the same thing, is it? A better comparison would be you walking through London and getting loads of abuse for being a lesser being because you're northern working class.

'Heat of the moment' isn't any excuse either. It's the football - not the front line in a f***ing war.

Everyone says stuff that they dont necessarily mean though in the heat of the moment. Dont see why people get worked up about it., If it was a vicious personal attack then fair enough but otherwise its just life imo

Oh look, More people who couldn't give a damn or never goto football have turned up.

Not saying racist things isn't hard. It really isn't.

It's very simple for me. If racist things come out of your gob when you're angry, you're a f***ing racist. And if you're a racist, you need to have a bit of a think, then grow up - or fuck off.

Getting called a ch*nk/g**k/etc. is no fun. Trust me.

I can imagine mate. It's just i know this board and i know a lot of posters on here are making stories up. All it is doing is showing safc up, plastering it on the net for the world to see. Mods should delete this whole thread.

At the end of the day, people say stuff in the heat of the moment. It doesnt mean they would hoy a ring of tyres on someone and burn him. If i wandered through the congo and pissed someone off I wouldnt take offence if they called me a white wanker/bastard. Its just the way it is

But that's just your feelings on the matter, what if you were walking through The Congo with your family or mates and they were called white bastards or something? Also just because you don't get bothered when a person beside you calls one of our players a puff or a black something or other, does not mean it's right either. Think is was the Southampton game last season and the abuse i heard O'Shea got was wrong on so many levels, it was disgusting.

I've heard racism probably 20 times over the last decade. Only twice have I been able to report it, as often you hear comments from behind / in front shouted but can't work out who said it.

It's ranged from people calling irish players 'f***ing potato bastards' to some of the worst comments I've ever heard directed to black and asian players. I would be amazed if anyone has regularly gone to every home and away game over the last 15 years give or take and has heard nothing.

I imagine in the SoL it depends where you sit - it's been much worse in some areas I've been in than others, although nowhere is it constant.

To put in in context; this is still only twice a season, so it's hardly a common occurrence, but I would argue with anyone who says it's completely gone. It wasn't that long ago about a hundred or so of our fans sang 'you're just a town full of p***s' away at Leicester.

Just take the abuse man, its only words. If someone came swinging with left handers then thats different but words are just words and they really dont hurt.

I`ve took abuse of pakistani types before and a clip soon sorted it out

No I just think your argument is poor.

you have gave 2 examples. A man beating a women and a man threatening a women. Both examples are far worse than someone shouting racist abuse.

You are mistaken if you think I'm looking for an equivalent. Read the posts again - you objected to people being 'offended on someone else's behalf', I'm pointing out that's a very natural thing to do.

Empathy.[DOUBLEPOST=1388618444][/DOUBLEPOST]

So you mustn't have ever had a heated debate on here then. It's only words.

He never goes to football games. So he's not in the best position to be commenting on racism in football.

Same song was sung at west brow a couple of seasons ago

Report any racist comments you hear in the stadium to the club. The club take it really seriously. Some knacker was slagging off Daryl Powell and another black Derby player as black bastards which I emailed them about. Next game I spoke to a steward who asked if this was the one in seat number whatever so they knew.

You're like one of those gobby harridans circling 2 fighting blokes screeching "Hit him Trev!".

You have no idea whatsoever how many games I go to or have been to. Why would you?

Fair point mate, but some people aren't as thick skinned as others in regard to being able to rise above things you know.

Also the heat of the moment was mentioned, that's all well and good but what happens if there was alcohol involved too? Some people get extremely angry with beer in them, when sober they may not.

No-one gives a fuck about Sunderland AFC man. Why would they? You spend much time looking at Hull's board?

Was in the south stand today, some kids dad hurled a shit load of racist comments at altidore and diakite and ji and ki, even had a pop at benteke! then the bairn joined in with him.

Fuckers like this should not be aloud to breed
But where would you draw the line, bad spelling?
