Racism at Yorkshire CCC

Why?

Authorities seem to have brushed this under the carpet

I cannt fathom out how Yorkshire were allowed to host an Ashes test

We were denied this so I believe

Total p take in my opinion
appreciate others may disagree

But as a family - we’ve enjoyed international games at CLS along with shorter formats

I did drag my then 13-14 year old son to a Yorkshire county championship game in lovely weather a few year ago - derided him as the bar was open - sunny day - but the bugger at 13-14 couldn’t drive

Inconsiderate kids 🤭

While views on here may be clouded by what happened to Durham, Headingley is a fantastic venue for Test cricket as proven last week. A suitable compromise imo would have been to continue holding matches there, but with none of the money going to YCCC and instead spread around the other 17 counties, or going to local charities

Give Ashes tests to Durham

This. The host venues are allowed far too big a share of gate receipts. They should be given a staging fee just as they do for staging concerts and remainder allocated to county boards so that all levels of cricket benefit.

Cricket won't rid itself of the malign presence of Colin Graves that way. He led the charge on punishing Durham, despite claiming that he was merely an impartial observer (wanker!) and he used his position at the top of the ECB to award punishments that would protect and enhance his own financial interests at Yorkshire

And he still thinks the racism row was just a bit of banter, despite everything that has gone on.

What the ECB really need to do is help Yorkshire free themselves from his financial clutches once and for all, paying him off if necessary and recovering the money later. Then giving Durham reparations for the disgraceful way they were treated to right that particular wrong too. Of course this would all require significant investment by the ECB in the short term. Thank goodness they didn't bet the bank and blow everything they had on some spurious piece of old nonsense that any fool could see wasn't going to be anything other than a disaster from conception, at birth, through life and then at its inevitable early death

Youre getting worse 😄, now you want to be pimped out. Have you got a white rose gonk suit somewhere .
It really suits the yorkshire character all ends up to be told to hold tests but get nowt doesn't it . I can just hear the clubs response 🤣

It's fantasy land stuff I agree, and would never be allowed to happen, but would probably be the only way to avoid punishing the good folk of Yorkshire who enjoy Test cricket, keeping internationals at a famous old ground, but going some way to satisfying those who want to see a punishment for the club itself. The Durham fiasco has got the ECB into a right old pickle. They don't want to take Test cricket away from a famous old ground where England usually do well, but there will always be those who quite rightly compare it to what happened to Durham

Well people (organisations)are allowed to learn you know . So it was wrong what happened to Durham , that doesnt mean Yorkshire have to atone for it .
Weve just seen what Yorkshire can put on test wise , im buggered ( and so would the county be ) if id do that for nowt , which would be England's loss.
If its not broke dont fix it and Headingly test cricket is far from broke

Would you care to explain the terms "pimped out" and "gonk suit" to enable me to understand your post?

It was a sincere request, neither of the terms are familiar to me. I'm obviously at the other end of the communication spectrum to you.

Sorry i thought it was Silly i was replying to ( hence the Hull reference )
Pimped out is when one is prostituted , a gonk suit is worn by the dominated party in sadomasochistic practices
Just a bit of skit between two Yorkies

Bit of a strange mistake to make when I've never lived in Hull. I thought you were referring to yourself, although I'm sure I read you live in one of the East Riding villages, in which case you're one to talk about lack of communication

No problem. Nor do I have a problem with Headingley staging test matches. What I do argue is that all test venues take a disproportionate amount of the revenue from test matches.

I can do that if it meant Yorkshire got a cut of all the other venues and got reimbursed expenses for Headingly. Bugger doing one at our expense then giving it all away unilaterally though.

Aye it's a family thing. Always been very close to them, parents, grandparents, uncles. Why I tend to take any "dissing" of the club a bit more to heart I think
