Racism at Yorkshire CCC


Protest at the ground tomorrow. Sports fella on ITV reckons this will get worse for Yorkshire. Seems to suggest more players will own up soon like Vaughan has.
 
Had to field questions as the office’s resident cricket correspondent all day. Most were sympathetic to Rafiq although there were still the one or two “doing it for a pay off” remarks

Ballance has owned up, Vaughan is, as you say, denying everything. It's closing in though as another Yorkshire player has confirmed his comments.

So many heads need to roll at YCCC, the punishment should be much worse than Durham's but you know, it's Yorkshire. It will be interesting to see how far the international games keep the county afloat.

The same Agnew who after the journalist Johnathan Liew expressed concern about some of the language he used to describe Jofra Archer’s selection and wrote about the notion of structural prejudice in the way we express ourselves, called Liew a "****", said actually he was the racist, and denied any wrongdoing at all (rather then learn from it)?
 
Vaughan is toast. He can deny as much as he wants but witnesses and some of his previous posts on social media don’t make good reading for him.

To be fair there will be at least 9 other witnesses including the 3 you mention. Why not ask the non asians in the team what they recall because (and it should not be this way) the confirmation of one of the 'English' players would condemn him more than if all the Asians confirmed it in some peoples eyes.

The loss of sponsorship is not a 'punishment'. Its a consequence.;)

To be fair there are more than one posts on here from you that allude to Rafiq being a less than likeable individual and you have used that to attempt to lesson the racism against him.

Just to be clear, no matter what an utter **** Rafiq may or indeed may not be, using racist langauge is not acceptable. If he's a **** then call him a ****. Those posts just come across as deflection and make you look like an apologist.

Action, admission, contrition, resignations and real meaningful change.

I have close friends who are members at Yorkshire who probably will not renew. The financial hit goes further than just the sponsorship.
