Racism at Yorkshire CCC

Cricket’s reputation in Yorkshire is completely fucked now like. Who in their right mind would want to start playing the game or let their kids play against this backdrop? In the past I would have recommended it to anyone. I wouldn’t now. I’d be embarrassed to
I'm having a grandson next year if he ever gets the shout I'll carry him to Headingly on my back.
Temporary business , our business and we'll sort it.

Following the resignation of former chairman Roger Hutton, Hanif Malik OBE and Stephen Willis have also stepped down from the Board.
Neil Hartley will remain on the board to "ensure a smooth transition to new leadership" but will step down in the near future, the club said

THE ORGANISATIONS WHO CUT TIES

  • Emerald Group Publishing
  • Nike
  • Anchor Butter
  • Yorkshire Tea
  • Payntr
  • Tetley's Beer
  • Harrogate Spring Water
  • David Lloyd Clubs
  • Bagnalls
  • Leeds Beckett University
The club's 2019 accounts showed it earned just over £3m from commercial income which would include sponsorship. But now at least nine organisations have withdrawn sponsorship - including Nike, Yorkshire Tea and Anchor Butter.

I think now is probably the best time to send your bairns there. They will be so keen to be doing the right thing. There’ll be an influx of coaches from Asian backgrounds. They’ll be focussed on making sure they offer what people want. If they don’t do it, then the ECB and Government will be down in them like a ton of bricks. They will be under the microscope for a good few years.
This should be the case for every county to be honest, but with less scrutiny on the other counties.

Except you don’t believe anything needs to be sorted - hence why Yorkshire is in the state it’s in. Hell, you’re even saying it’s ok to racially abuse someone if they’re a twat. Well done.

Summat else I've never said . Yer not doing very well .
“You’ve” had a year to sort it, and have spectacularly failed so far.
Who knows what's been decided going forward , all they've said of late is no retrospective disciplinary.

That’s not sorting it. If it wasn’t continually pushed, we wouldn’t have even got a statement.

the club have shown themselves incapable of sorting it, even going as far as saying they were “proud”

the fans have generally been brilliant, the inside of the club is utterly rotten

The ECB hung them out to dry. But Yorkshire need a top of bottom overhaul.

Yorkshire had 14 months to address this. They then released a redacted report on the morning of the cancelled test. And then said they were proud of their actions

the ECB should have acted sooner, but the buck stops with the club fundamentally
Nah not really , I'm more interested in where we are now .
Well you said that it was your problem to sort. Where are we now? A situation where Yorkshire have proven they can’t sort it. Because they haven’t

The report should have been done by the ECB or, ideally, totally independent. Yorkshire shouldn't have been left to do it.
It's like being your own Judge at a trial!

Again how do you want it sorting now. Going forward mind not just looking to punish

It was framed as an independent report, including lots of non connected people I think

Punishment is part of it, it has to be. People need sacking

the club needs root and branch reform, governance structures and independent verification.
