Put a flat earthier into space

You originally suggested a spirit level. Ok then a laser level. Over what distance do you think you would see something meaningful given the size of the earth.

Believe me, it is not a matter of intelligence to assume we know what next mental fantasy you have invented in your head.

It seems that most conspiracy theories fall down when we look for the details. Once we look into the details of what you say when you repeat water level over and over again, it seems you can’t even describe what you mean by that. Rather pathetic really.

Edit: Oh it seems I posted too late.

Oh well, if this thread does bump in April, we can look forward to a workable 2d map of flatopia and a definition of what he means by “water level”.
I can only apologise Dave, but his deflection from Snockerty's questions strayed into wummery.

There has to be a line and he crossed it.

It's nuts how he thinks no1 else has ever thought for themselves or at least studied a subject to a level in which they know something. How can a person not have one single doubt that there might just be some people out there who he's not smarter than. I mean he actually believes he's smarter than billions of people and on every subject he's the most qualified.

He tried to say he believed in maths, physics, right angles when I asked him yesterday, whilst in the past he's redefined them all. I actually wonder if he's compartmentalised his lying way of behaving and doesn't even realise?

I'm still trying to figure out what he would ever accept as a fact? It appears than anything presented in any form, mathematically or otherwise is outright rejected cos facts about a globe just can't exist.
I think he knows a lot more than he lets on.... sometimes. He just deliberately misunderstands things to avoid difficult subjects and to avoid committing himself to an answer when he's fully aware you're leading up to something else.

It's weird mental gymnastics when he proports to want to know the truth. He's definitely a massive liar and very dishonest. I think he knew this but has become so brainwashed with his authority agenda that he can't actually agree with anyone on anything that is presented with mass detail. Going into it and being honest would lead to issues so he lies and deflects knowingly or unknowingly.

:D don’t worry. I was not expecting an answer anyway.

He swears by water level. When drilled down it is his one thing that his whole fantasy world is based on, and can’t even answer what it means.

He said the map just after Christmas.
Can't wait

Just caught up

The mental thing is, in his head he will conclude this thread has been 12 months of loads of people against just him, and despite everyone else's best efforts they weren't able to offer him anything that made him question or rethink his own certainty that the earth is not a spinning globe.

Totally delusional.

This sums it up perfectly he will see it as him winning against the rest of the world

It seems like most conspiracy theorists live in a locked in fantasy world, where what they assume, just becomes true in their heads. They share that and others follow. Nobody ever does experiment. Some claim, but can never provide a photo, video, method or results. After a while they convince themselves it happened. Why would a discussion on an internet thread be different?

Take this thread. Claims of things said where untrue, claims that certain questions were answered, yet the thread is here. We can look at every single post. Some people have taken the time to link to posts. You could not get any clearer evidence, it practically slaps you in the face. But how many things have been denied and dismissed as part of the conspiracy?

When someone can be quoted and linked to their own post and flat out deny that as evidence, then you know they are the sort of compulsive liar and fantasist that can write their own story for any aspect in life.

In some ways, that should make conspiracy theorists the happiest people around, but unfortunately they also see the real world, see it as lies, trickery and deceit and end up living in a frightened paranoid state. A number of CTs have had severe breakdowns. It is no coincidence that people who follow one conspiracy theory often follow many others, and suddenly claim expertise and having done experiments from space through to medical science.

Sadly what we have seen on this thread with our own specimen of study is not unique and there are loads of very similar ones elsewhere on the internet.

In some ways I hope the lad doesn't really believe in a global conspiracy and has been leading the rest of us a merry dance all these months.

The sheer delusion required for the alternative scenario is far more disturbing.

Nevertheless I do think it's important to continue to debunk this sort of stuff, because although the flat earth conspiracy is completely comical and arguably harms no one, often it can be a gateway to more sinister fake news stories.

You just need to have a quick look at the current state of American politics to realise the scale of the damage that can be caused when unscrupulous individuals simply invent stuff in order to take advantage of a poorly educated and thus gullible electorate.

There was a globe-denier on LBC Mystery Hour just, asking "if the Sun's rays are parallel then eclipses can't cause two shadow types, but if the rays aren't parallel then Eratosthenes was wrong about his experiment to determine the rotundity of the Earth, so which is correct?"

James O'Brien then proceeded to take the piss out him over his pronunciation of Eratosthenes, causing the muppet to start to lose his temper.

Hey globe-denier, you're doing trolling wrong if you're the one getting angry!

It is closer to home. Imagine if the strength of our economy was linked to our EU membership, but someone told the masses that most EU immigrant workers were low skilled, low wage spongers and we could not make our own laws etc, none of it is true, but......oh

I've not read all this thread, obviously, so don't know if this has been brought up, or i'm just talking shite.
If the earth is just a flatish disc, are all the other planets and stars flat discs ? If we are on a horizontal disc, why are all the other discs vertical.
And they all appear to be facing us. We must be the centre of the universe or at least Galaxy.
Not a serious question. Just a thought.

Space/stars and other planets don't exist

He thinks space doesn't exist. All the light we see up there comes from a central projector on top of a raised mound in the centre of the earth. We are not able to get to the centre or see it because even though it creates all the heat on the planet it is also too cold for man or machine to approach it.
