I’d go Lees and Burns, with Burns vice captain. Crawley at 3

I'm sitting on the fence and waiting til the early season plays out a bit more. I think those that have failed so badly in recent tests such as Burns, Sibley, Crawley etc should at the very least be scoring a load in the county games to be considered for selection. Wheres the incentive for others if they are piling up runs and not getting in ahead of those that have failed over such a long period of time?I’d go Lees and Burns, with Burns vice captain. I think with Lees doing adequately when selected at scoring heavily early season makes him a likely selection but im not sure on his partner yet.
I’m not so sure. We do get players that show a bit in county cricket but don’t make the step up. There’s plenty who are making a case this year on flatter pitches against moderate bowling but I can’t say with any confidence we have better than those that have tried and failed. I do hope I’m wrong. I think Duckett is making a case for himself and I like the look of him.Aye it’s a trricky balance
They obviously think Crawley is a player who will do well at test level beyond his CC record
However he’s had a poor season and I do believe England should make changes
Stokes, root n bairstow will play , which is right based on the last 5,6 tests
So my own view is Crawley, pope and Lawrence need replacing
And I think there are Plenty players to replace them
So much talent in England like

I was just having a nice conversation. I don’t share your optimism that we have plenty of options that will make the step up but I have most confidence in Duckett and would like to see him have a go. I reckon you see a bit more live county cricket than me so your opinion probably carries more weight.I’m confused this post as you disagree but disagree
I’d drop Crawley pope and Lawrence
There’s so many alternatives
It’s not controversial at all
Maybe not while Jimmy Anderson is still influentialI think Duckett is making a case for himself and I like the look of him.
Is Bohannon batting at 4? In CC,I’d go:
Lees
Haines
Bohannon
Root
Bairstow
Stokes *
Foakes +
Probably a year too early for Haines. Much rather him than Crawley though…
Bohannon should be next in line, but I’d have Bracey and Duckett in the squads.
Parkinson would also be my spinner.
3 I thinkIs Bohannon batting at 4? In CC,

That’s right, recently scored 231 batting at 3.3 I think
Not sure how you can be so confident of your last statement tbh.Aye it’s a trricky balance

I think he will pick Lees and Crawley for the first test but Crawley is a lucky lad. I don’t think he has done enough but he will get another chance I think particularly with Key involved.Crawley frustrates me. But I think he did enough in the winter to warrant the start of the summer
Okay, but still not good enough. I’d be surprised if Lawrence kept his place with so many middle-order options (Bohannon, Bracey, Duckett, Brook, Vince, Pope…). Less so Crawley.Crawley done okay since he got back in side, Lawrence was okay in Windies. They won’t be dropped
