Private Plates

Got mine given as a birthday present
I got one for Xmas a couple of years ago. I scoffed my wife about hers so she bought me one! It's not something I would have ever bought for myself.

I sold a private plate recently off a car that came with one that I was selling. Only 5 digits so it should have been worth a few bob but I only got £280 off eBay for it less £30 selling fee and £80 retention. Not much of a money spinner!

If only Fred Philip Smith had been after one...

I know a very famous “adult film star” who had a rather saucy number plate.

She did it to flaunt her sexuality. According to her.

She was horrible, she looked like a dried old grape and had halitosis.
Was on a flight to Portugal once, lass on the flight kissed her mam and son goodbye in Newcastle and was sat next to a mate on the plane. Her tits were hanging out and looked proper filthy ( but not very nice looking) reckoned she was off to Portugal for a porn shoot.

When we got back to Newcastle ( she was on the same flight) there was a black jeep picked her up with her ( apparently) her porn name as the reg. can’t remember it but I’m sure it had pink in the name.

I’ve got one, bought as a gift and I wouldn’t change it.

Ha ha, it has my real ( everyday ) name on.

I’d be concerned if someone bought me a gift that was something to do with my smb user name. Ha.
Bugger I've been looking for K1 DGD for years 😆

A couple of my mates have them and I always call them vanity plates as a little wind up but I don't mind them, I think there's something quite nice about having the same reg for all your motoring life if it's a good one, some try too hard to make things look like they're not, I'm more annoyed about those very dark plates you can barely see even in broad daylight, how are they not illegal and if, as I suspect they are, are people not fined or told to remove them?

Your second points very true. Had my plate about 25 years, wasnt expensive. Often folk will pip me on the a19 etc that i know despite having about 8 cars in that period.

Got one as a Christmas present frm the bairn. It's a shitty car but the plate is relevant. Don't understand all the jealousy on here like
