Pre season schedule

I’m not. If you ignore the shit attendance it’s a good opportunity for new signings to get used to the stadium before the first meaningful match.

It’s just marginal gains, but it worked well for us last season.
I went to last season’s home pre season match by myself, really enjoyed it tbh. Would’ve laughed my head off if someone had told me that day the season we would go on to have.

Tempted by York but imagine tickets will be hard to get
I've just sat in the home end when we played them there previously, didn't have any issues. Albeit they might be slightly more busy given we are in the prem now and they're back in L2. We were in L1 when I last went.

i was away last year but this summer got friends visiting from france that weekend so its absolutely ideal.

hopefully they price it well and it'll be a good attendance. hoy in a loyalty point and you'd be looking at 30,000+

I think a loyalty point is the only chance you’ve got. If people didn’t turn up for Xhaka’s debut then nothing else will entice them

Personally don’t think they should be giving loyalty points for attending a friendly, and I say that as someone whose points have been on the decline in recent years. They’re good days out, we went to the other one a few years ago and mixed up our matchday routine by drinking down the coast instead of town pre match. Even if you don’t drink, it’s a day out in the sun and warm weather spent at our brilliant stadium with all the improvements being made around it, and without the pressure or nerves of a big ‘real’ match. With being by myself I had a walk down from Southwick, around the ground, down Roker Avenue and had a pint in the Navy Club, match, then back over town and got the bus home.

i just think its an easy win for the club. they aren't going to get much, if any, backlash off the fans for doing it, and it'll add 10,000+ onto the attendance with all the spending that comes with that.

i disagreed in general with the sheff utd loyalty point last season, as the whole reason it was potentially going to be a low turn out was due to the rediculous kick off time coupled with no public transport. it penalised those who physically couldn't get there, generally ST holders who live further afield

one home friendly a year, saturday 3pm kick off in the middle of summer with 2+ months notice to arrange yourself for it, seems like an open goal for the club to add a loyalty point in the mix and get some good PR for getting 30,000+ for a friendly. it would look fanstastic to both current players and new players

Makes sense getting a couple of games with decent French sides. SAFC - French - Owner, DOF, Head Coach and key players like ELF, Nordi and Wilson. I believe we get quite a bit of positive and in depth coverage by the French Sports Media, good to build on the connection.

Hopefully get some more french players in

What time is the Lens match? Our website says 4pm BST and Lens site says 4pm local? If its 5pm French time tricky to make it back it back to Lille in time for the train.

We're all saying it. The Regis influence!
