Praying for a result tonight

Taking my eldest to his first game tonight. He's not massively into football in general but he's looking forward to it. Hoping it gets under his skin as ive always wanted to bring him.

Could be the start of a lifelong supporter. I hope

Haaaaaaaaway!!!!

Result wont be everything for him

Performance will be huge, If we play well, have chances and the crowd is up and we lose 1-0 that could be a bigger spark than a victory with our only shot of the game.

for my lad, and his first game it was about being part of something. He had his scarf, we went for a drink with other sunderland fans, walked to the ground and he was wide eyed and hooked from then.

Yes, im hoping he is in awe at the size of the crowd. I was when I went for my first game
No wonder he’s not into football in general if you’re waiting until he’s 12

Never shown an interest mate. His best mate at school is a MLF and it's made him take notice finally

The first game i took my daughter (5 at the time) to was the Stoke home game last year (Tommy Watson scored 2), and it was one of the coldest games i've ever been to. She spent the whole game shivering and we ended up leaving on about 60 minutes. She loves football now but i'm struggling to convince her to come to another game as she thinks it's always too cold

It's on you man. Failure to convert him is failure as a parent 😉 my first game was a defeat. It matters not the result!

I remember to this day the first time I walked up the steps at Roker Park on my first night match and saw the floodlights. Magical.

I took my daughter to her first game (AFC Wimbledon I think in August 2021). She was 11, had little interest in football and no connection with Sunderland as a place (we live in Yorkshire and I’m originally from Newcastle).

We’ve had season tickets ever since and she is completely Sunderland obsessed. It’s been one hell of a ride in those 5 years!

Hope it goes well. 🤞

It’s going to be a bear pit tonight, Europe is on the line. Money in the bank match.
