Taking my eldest to his first game tonight. He's not massively into football in general but he's looking forward to it. Hoping it gets under his skin as ive always wanted to bring him.
Could be the start of a lifelong supporter. I hope
Haaaaaaaaway!!!!
I remember it well and I applaud your son for his patienceMy son's first PL game was a 0-4 defeat at home to Villa. IIRC we were 0-4 down at half time.
He was still hooked and we signed up for Season Tickets straight after
No wonder he’s not into football in general if you’re waiting until he’s 12He owes me to be fair. Couldn't go to the City final in 2014 cos he was due the same week. And I constantly remind him of this!
Yes, im hoping he is in awe at the size of the crowd. I was when I went for my first gameResult wont be everything for him
Performance will be huge, If we play well, have chances and the crowd is up and we lose 1-0 that could be a bigger spark than a victory with our only shot of the game.
for my lad, and his first game it was about being part of something. He had his scarf, we went for a drink with other sunderland fans, walked to the ground and he was wide eyed and hooked from then.
Never shown an interest mate. His best mate at school is a MLF and it's made him take notice finallyNo wonder he’s not into football in general if you’re waiting until he’s 12

I took my daughter to her first game (AFC Wimbledon I think in August 2021). She was 11, had little interest in football and no connection with Sunderland as a place (we live in Yorkshire and I’m originally from Newcastle).Taking my eldest to his first game tonight. He might be a good luck charm who knows!Jinxed us marra, he'll now experience a dose of the Sunlun' depression we've all experienced for the majority of our lives.
