How we have survived this long in the top flight is a moot point. There must have been some utterly shit teams in it over the last few years. We have fucked about 15th, 17th, 16th, 19th for most of our time in recent years yet somehow managed to scrape survival, usually in the last game or two.
Other teams have done better than us, came and went. We have managed to stay up consistently. And before today we were looking one of the most solid side in the bottom half of the table. Yes a performance like today is inexcusable but Id rather wait and see us serve up shite like today more regularly before filling me kegs.

Not really, and nor does it need to be. The difference in how we are now playing now (today aside) to how we were one year ago today is remarkable, and it's because of Poyet.

This thread will be bookmarked for the end of the season.
Remarkable...

1 win in 8... Remarkable my arse..better yes, but thats just tallest dwarf syndrome.

Yes. He's only got 1 tactic and can't change a game.

When plan A doesn't work plan B is horrible. Just look at that 5-3-2 shite last season.

Not sure where youve been for the last decade but we have served up shite like this regularly. Not on this scale but we regularly lose and cant score. Its 43 years this month since my last game and other than 2 x 7th finishes and 1 x 10th we have offered the top flight fuckall. Perennial strugglers.

Id take 7 consecutive seasons in the PL happily. Before our current run we were either in the Championship, or getting relegated from the PL without a whimper. We have made progress. Yes we arent a top half team, but the fact we have become a PL staple side is huge progress.

It might end this year. I wouldnt count your chickens juts yet.

Aye, the bloke is out of his depth.

No one sits slumped in a chair looking utterly baffled quite like gus

no. Stupid question really. A defeat next week and the directors of the club should start to feel some heat. It's their transfer policies and lack of ambition that sees us in a perennial relegation battle.
This^

Transfer policy of the board will eventually damn us to relegation.

Out squad is good enough to not be getting humped 8-0

For a Premier League club to be getting hammered like that is embarrassing.

And he has to take the blame. His selections and substitutions are just baffling.

Of course it is and our side should not be getting beaten that badly by any side in the top flight.

Poyet must accept his share of blame for the shambles of today but to debate that his position should be under threat is going way overboard IMO.
