poyet out?

Personally I have major doubts about Poyet.

However, this is a one-off and he's earner the right to a proper go at the job.

Who is a good alternative? The decision makers at the club haven't either got a clue or network of contacts. They would inevitably go for Pulis...... With our squad it would be f***ing awful to see. My issue with poyet is about his ability to coach the style of play he wants..... Hits visible in periods but not in a way to impose itself on decent teams. We will and should stick with him but I have serious doubts about how good he really is

If Moyes fancied another project I would pay his bus fare.
Otherwise, keep Gus and give him time (and money)
He knows who gave up today. He knows where they live.
He is polishing his baseball bat. They will suffer.

Don't think it's the manager, at least it's not just the manager. It's our record of player recruitment under Bruce, O'Neill, Di Canio, Poyet - since we sacked Steve Bruce for his own nightmare transfer window, how many "good deals" have we made? I'd say Mannone despite his performance today and that's about it for permanent transfers. You'd expect an established Premier League club to accidentally unearth a good one every now and then, but not us. At least Bruce would get it right every once in a while.

I don't know how long we'll ease Jack Rodwell into fitness or if he'll ever be a player who can take over a game. I don't know what position Giaccherini's supposed to play here. I don't know if Altidore will ever play again, let alone score again. Fletcher and Johnson are at least decent Premier League players, but the solution definitely isn't "a starting eleven of Steven Fletcher-quality players at £12m each."

Not sure where youve been for the last decade but we have served up shite like this regularly. Not on this scale but we regularly lose and cant score. Its 43 years this month since my last game and other than 2 x 7th finishes and 1 x 10th we have offered the top flight fuckall. Perennial strugglers.

You never been tempted to go back like ;)

The knee jerking on here is no surprise any longer but still hurts to see. Can't believe what shite this once good and interesting msgboard has become.

This was an awful game. The players and the management had a nightmare. But we know that we did not spend enough to be out of trouble this summer. It will be a fight but we are looking better then we have for a while now. Sure spending 10m on Rodwell is not looking to smart atm but could come good in the end. We need some consistency, we need to give a manager time to put his mark on the whole club as long as he is not doing terrible (as the last managers have). I still think will get things right, he already got them better...

Remarkable...

1 win in 8... Remarkable my arse..better yes, but thats just tallest dwarf syndrome.

Utter shite.

Bedwetting clunge.

Losing 8-0 is certainly remarkable and yes, it's all because of Poyet.

One league win in 8, and fourth bottom. Miyacle worker indeed

Knee-jerk nonsense.

I'll bookmark all of these for the end of the season.

Arsenal, yes Arsenal, got beat 8-2 at Old Trafford not too long ago, and what a calamity that was for them

It happens from time to time. Chill the fuck out.

No, he's a young manager and still has a huge learning curve. has the potential to make it imo, still needs a couple more transfer windows

Absolutely not.

We will finish bottom 6 again though. Can't see anything but tbh, there's a severe lack of quality in the squad.

No.

We've struggled throughout his time here. We seemed to click at the end of last season but several of the key players in that system are no longer with us. The new players he's brought in have struggled to show any consistency and we failed to sign a striker/midfielder that could score us goals. Our defence looks weaker too. I thought Alonso was a big player for us but again, we went for the cheap option in Van Aanholt.

It might be worth playing Vergini right back or dropping Brown after his disaster performance today.
