Will be a test of character for Poyet, happy with him so far but he's never had to face being bottom of the league before.

Do we know if Mavrias is doing a lot in training? Does anyone actually see him play and do they rate him? Speaking to a Greek restaurant owner in the summer while on holiday and he says'' he is a bit of a lad'' likes to smoke and drink and party till the early hours. Probably not conforming to the rules of SAFC. If he is not featuring he must be either crap or a bit of an a--sehole.

I agree - I think the way he's got us passing the ball is the right thing, but some of his comments suggest he won't be sticking around too long. He certainly looks fed up whenever the camera is on him.

The problem is Short said he wanted to see improvement before he gave Gus money to spend. I'm not sure that after today there is enough evidence that things have improved enough - bit of a Catch 22 for Gus as he can't really improve the team with the players he's got, though I do think he has improved the style of play. But if Short won't invest in what Gus needs now, he's in a no-win position as he "guides" the club into the Championship, and may well not stay for that privilege.

I agree, the 2002/03 and 2005/06 teams were so shite that you couldn't really blame them for getting relegated.

This team has had millions pumped into it and fortunes spent on wages... the hapless fuckers turning out and they don't look like they can be arsed most of the time.
 
He can't do much with the hand he's been dealt to be fair. All he can do is swap shite for shite, so they all get an equal opportunity to be f***ing woeful.

The age old problem with this club is quantity over quality. Every transfer window we flood the squad with mediocre shite that bring nothing to the team. It doesn't matter who he picks, they are all pretty much as bad as each other.

But Di Canio didnt sign any of those players did he? So when the team play well and beat Everton, Chelsea etc. it's glory to Poyet but when we lose abjectly it's not his fault!

hahaha if hes fed up already he wants to try three years of watching almost the same shit doing the same f***ing thing. How short the board or whoever thought we would be alreet with this squad is beyond me, large percent of them have been trying there best to get us relegated for around 2 seasons now.

Awful isn't it. This shower of arseholes have driven me to the point of once planning my trips to Sunderland around home games and sod everything else and now to the opposite. All it does now is spoil my weekend.

Easy to twist words to whatever you want to hear mate. You're clearly one of the 'poor, poor pitiful me' brigade. Gus never said the fans were 'to blame for this shite'; he made the point that fans frustration transfers to the players
And intimated that this wouldn't make the players play better. It wouldn't help. If it is my 'lonely opinion', then maybe I'm just a bit brighter than you and your cohorts, because I don't find his concept problematical at all.

Ji = had a decent enough game, worked hard.

Celustka = again, not that bad.

Borini = collapsed last game ffs, played 45.

Mavrias = played one game, what on earth makes you think he would make any bit of difference?
