Poveda

Poveda has yet to make a start in the Championship since joining in the summer. He had a two-month spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury from October to December before returning to the squad and was an unused substitute in the games against Norwich and Blackburn last month. However, he then picked up another hamstring injury that kept him out until recent weeks.

The attacker has been dogged by injuries throughout his career. Now 35, he has made less than 75 appearances in a career that has seen him at Manchester City, Barcelona, Leeds and loan spells with Blackburn, Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday.

I can't get my head around this though. If you've been dropped from the match day squad for turning up late to a team meeting. I'd bloody well make sure i was one of the first to turn up at the stadium to support my team mates. Strolling in at 7:20 is not just a bad look to the management and his teammates, it's an awful look walking through the fans outside.

Clearly has one of those attitudes where he doesn't seem to care now he's got the security of a 3 year deal
If he has already been told that he isn’t in the squad then I’ve no issue with him turning up to watch at 7.20

Seems to me here that everyone has written him off even though we don't actually know the circumstances of the internal disciplinary action other than some speculation. Of course he hasn't contributed anything so far but most of that is due to injury and it's clouding people's judgement IMO.

If he reacts in the right way after this he deserves a chance to put it right on the pitch, and our support. If not, fair enough he should go and look for another club.

Obviously the consensus on here is that he's finished because everything on the internet has to be binary.
Not the case at all look at rashford for man u late for training we effectively are paying his wages, money we could only dream of earning.
And he arrives 20 mins before kick off, what more do you need to know!
Even if he scores it doesn't correct that attitude,I wrote a bit last week defending him and saying give him a chance in games, then this sorry not for me thanks.dont care how good he is,he's setting a bad example.

That’s not what happened ffs

Every player has to be given the chance to prove themselves and as fans we can all have an opinion. Mine is that this player has in 5 seasons played 81 games I think and prior to that had a youth career for 5 different sides. On top of that he represented England through various age groups and then decided he was Colombian after ditching the country of his birth. It seems to me the lad likes to travel and is never settled anywhere. I personally think we have dropped a bollock with this lad and on a 3 year contract too. Hopefully I’m wrong but history does seem to repeat for him.

The club has a right to terminate his contract

Over the last four seasons Poveda's shown that he simply doesn't apply himself, doesn't score goals and misses more games than he plays......

I don't care how good he was as a teenager.

He's done nothing as an 'adult' player except take pay checks and moves on once he's found out as the lazy arsed chancer he is.

A complete and utter waste of money in the style of Rodwell and N'Dong.

Maybe not. Why does he need to turn up at all? I don’t know what the club rules are…..he should be showing his employers and team mates respect….as I have said previously I’ve seen his attitude to rules/law (admittedly parking) he doesn’t give a shit….

Based on what, being injured or being late.

I wish I could disagree with this as I want the lad to do well, but it doesn’t look promising does it.
