Not quite as we are still trading (Division) in the market with the lowest returns on players and everything else that goes with it. If Jobe Bellingham is worth £20mill in the championship today but we kept onto him for another 6 months he would be worth £40-£50 mill in the Prem. Its that hump we need to get across getting promoted to the promised land where everything doubles and trebles in value. Location, location, location so to speak
Don’t worry - Speakmand KLD are across these issues. They know what they are doing!

Only thing I can think of is that we owed his agent a favour.

Pretty clear to most at the time that he'd not been training or keeping himself to a reasonable standard of fitness to earn a contract somewhere, which should have been enough to get some alarm bells ringing.

Sheffield Wednesday wanted him back there after a very positive impact last season.

However the oracles on here know best and have declared him a car crash and a favor to his agent.

I suppose they’re feeding off scraps, so you can forgive them for going overboard when they get a chance.
What's your slant on him then?

Given his injuries and the time it took the likes of Mundle to settle in etc., I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

My main concern is his seemingly poor injury record.

Is he actually currently training or injured again?
He was back in training (and made the bench for the Blackburn game), but ahead of the Stoke game he apparently felt some tightness in his hamstring so they decided to take him out of training for 2 weeks to let it settle down.
Based on those timelines you'd expect him to be back in training end of this week, or more likely start of next.

From The Beano Echo
He has not played any competitive minutes since the 2-0 win over Derby County on October 1st, but returned to the matchday squad for the 2-1 win over Norwich City. Despite that, he was again absent at the weekend as the Black Cats fell to a late defeat at Stoke City. Le Bris says there has been a small reaction following his return to full training, and that Sunderland are going to give him more time to ensure that the injury is fully healed.
