Possible Durham overseas players

:confused: how many county cricket fans do you think could name their media manager? football is bigger business but i've no idea who safc's media manager is [or equivalent position]
 
We used to be able to name ours - Yvette. Most knew her by name due to the Live Match Chat.

That was brilliant coz as well as keeping up with the score if you couldn't be there, she was always forthcoming with other info. Then she left (the reasons are well known so I wont go into them) and this Aussie lass came in. She didn't seem to do half the work Yvette did. Live Match Chat subsequently got scratched.

LMC was well on its way to being scrapped even when she was still there tbf for reasons that are also well known.

If fans are kept informed about events at the club with regular media releases then there's no need to know who the media or press officer is.
Yvette Thompson was excellent in that role- she wasn't replaced. This suggests that keeping fans informed or answering their queries is not a priority with the club.

big part of it this, i had assumed if we signed anyone it would be an unheard of[relatively speaking] talent. hadn't noticed the restrictions being tightened now so we can only sign star players... will be tricky to find someone who fits criteria but remains affordable. easy to see why marcus north may be the obvious candidate

I think the restrictions have been in for a few years now so it's no more difficult than recent years. One plus is Aussies don't have any Tests this summer,as yet, and the SAffers only 2 Tests against Zimbabwe. Other is as County champions Durham must be an attractive club to join.

aye, but we haven't signed anyone in recent years and are utterly skint...

As far as I'm aware she has gone and wont be back. I dont have the foggiest who is in charge of PR now. I suspect that someone will be asked to double up on another role given the club finances.[DOUBLEPOST=1392680396][/DOUBLEPOST]

I have been speaking with Ben tonight (brilliant lad BTW). He leaves for the 20/20 on Thursday but has been given no indications as to his future with the test team by England - as yet!

I never asked Michael if he had fixed the girl up with the position last year. I assume that he must have had some input. I didnt think she would be back. Good spot by you!
 
Mitchell Marsh has been mentioned on here. He has shunned the IPL in favour of playing for an English county for the full Summer. This suggests that he may be eligible to play over here. He played alongside Colly at Perth Scorchers so I think he could be on the club's radar.
