I’m just not going to buy one. That’ll show them.

I never buy a paper poppy. I get a badge every year. They last longer, look smarter and don’t curl up or get soggy.

I’d love to think those tweets are a pisstake but I suspect they’re not.
Poppies are getting a bit boring now. They should change it to something different for the WW1 centenary. Like the Germans’ incredibly tasteful Verdun “The world’s blood pump” medal.

The smaller poppies are more expensive are they not?

The old soldier in the town charges £3.50 for the 2018 poppy but I was told today (by another seller) that they should only be £2.00 and all monies should have gone straight into the sealed collection tins and not in his cash box to prevent theft/fraud!

That depends on if he was supplied with the pins or he has bought them himself to sell on.
The official Poppy Shop sells the small pins online for £2-99 & the big ones for£3-99.
