Points needed to stay up

I convinced myself it would 36 at the start of the season think it may be a touch higher still work to do

We've seen in the past how relegation threatened teams going on a run out of nowhere beating teams you wouldn't expect like we did under Poyet but it would take some collapse from us to go down from here, think if that happens they should just fold the club.

35

It would take an absolutely disastrous run for us to be even close to going down from this point. We’d have to basically just love every game for the next 4 months

I reckon it’s going to be around 40 points.

West Ham have picked up recently and would only need 20 points from 15 games to hit 40 points, everyone else seems pretty much guaranteed to get there barring a disaster run.
They were awful at Spurs and got a very lucky last minute winner. Then they got us on one of our random bad days. Before that they hadn’t won for 10 games. Their next 8 games are Chelsea (a), Burnley (a), United (h), Bournemouth (h), Liverpool (a), Fulham (a), City (h), and Villa (a). For them to get to >38 points, they will need to pick up 3 wins from those 8 games. That is tough, even for a decent side. The way things are going they could be 8 points adrift by next weekend (they have Chelsea away and Forest at home to Palace). Not saying that they can’t do it, but one decent half against a completely out of sorts Sunderland isn’t keeping them up.

was going to say the same, want us at 42 asap to rest easy, think its going to be a season where its a high points total for 3rd bottom.

think 3rd bottom will reach 40 points this year, everyone seems to be able to beat anyone, the top teams keep dropping points.

Burnley is really a must win?

42 points required!

Imho, like
Only once this century has more than 39 points (without a horrific GD) been required. That was the year that West Ham went down with 42 points and perhaps the best side ever to have been relegated. West Ham 2025/6 are not a patch on that side.
