It's a good idea but it's ridiculous to suggest that because people want to donate to this they should/would want to donate to a charity.

I donate to charities of my choosing throughout the year but this is about chipping in for a plane to fly over St James while the Mags are playing Spurs live on Sky Sports.

It's about us having a bit of a laugh at their expense.
Just to clarify my original comment, maybe I should have worded it to say that if a group of people have the power to generate £1000 in 24 hours, then (in my view) it would be nice if this power to generate money was put to better use. I still think the plane thing makes us look obsessed, but appreciate others think differently.

wow... now that is serious trust in this place...

you've spelt madness wrong...
The extra £230 is another 24 people hoying in £10 (minus fees I reckon). There's been more than 24 people that have already hoyed in and I'm sure more than that would have hoyed in before Sunday. I just think it would be a shame to miss out on a harmless piss take simply because of the short time to arrange it. I'd dare say it will go over that in the next day or so and the extra will be going to the SAFC Foundation.

If it wasn't for @Major Major hoying in £200 earlier then this wouldn't have got sorted so quickly if at all 8-)

Just donated 200 quid via PayPal. Good luck! I vote for "We'll Meet Again "

That's a fair comment mate and obviously the SMB has been used to this effect and has raised far more money in the past.

The last plane thread was full of people basically demanding that we donate our money to charity rather than pay for a plane which is why you might get a few bites :)

This is nothing to do with charity it's just about chipping in a few quid for a bit of a laugh at the Mags expense.

Edit: Any remaining funds after the plane is booked will go to charity.

Excellent reply . We should enjoy it we've earned it . The hilarity carries on it didn't stop v Everton . Torture the deluded oafs .

If I therefore have any extra kudos I vote for Auf Wiedersehen Pet !!

If some one puts £20 quid in for me and pm's their address I'll post it out today. I don't like/understand techy payment things but I am honest. I posted Panini stickers out to everyone.

"Auf Wiedersehen Prem" for me

I can't see how it makes us look obsessed when all we are doing is taking the piss. I take the piss out of the Mags any time I can and a plane going over the stadium with a message for them and possibly the TV viewers is going to generate a laugh by the vast majority of people, not condemnation. Overall there will be few people who will be saying "look at their obsession, why didn't they just give to charity?"

The excess is going to SAFC Foundation and I'm sure we'll go over the money to cover the plane to ensure they get a donation. The plane is simply a catalyst to get people to give something but also know that the excess is going somewhere rather than an individual's pocket.

If someone started a thread on here simply asking to give to SAFC Foundation then do you honestly think it would generate the same interest and amount? It probably wouldn't and not everyone may want to donate to the specific charity alone and may prefer others. That's the sad fact I suppose and that's because there's that many charities out there so 'gimmicks' like this sometimes persuade people to put their hands in their pockets when they normally wouldn't.

If just asking for a donation on here for a charity did work then you'd have people from numerous charities asking to hoy threads up. Or how long before you could ask again for the same charity? It would end up with donation request saturation and people would end up giving nowt. Well that's my opinion anyway and maybe I'm wrong but I do feel that 'gimmicks' help sometimes and it's not as if we want to drop a bomb on them ;)

Spot on

Its not live on Sky is it? I saw the games they were showing advertised the other night and that wasn't one of them.

I have also just checked the planner and they are showing Man Utd v Bournemouth on Sky Sports 1, Swansea v Man City on Sky Sports 2 and Stoke v West Ham on Sky Sports 3. Unless its on the red button somewhere?

The last time we sent the plane over was against Spurs live on Sky! I am not sure if @Rober33 was meaning that game

Be a shame if it's not live but it will end up on TV at some point. Not really fussed myself, as long as those f*****s see it.

Sader than my Defoe post.
Sader: A very kind and fun loving character who is also a beast! They are very loyal and will do anything for their freinds even if it means making the ultimate sacrifice. They are usually very friendly. A Sader is very strong and cocky and can never be told they cant do something or they shall do it. A sader is also a little girl crazy and you will always wee them with at least one girl with him. A sader is a good guy but if you piss him off stay out of his way for he isnt easy to take down and he will fight to his last breath. He is also very protective.
