Pink seats

Rule 101 when selling something tart it up a bit......hats off to everybody who changed those seats and i doubt not one of them has any regrets and only thought it was a positive experience .I personally thought they (management could have rewarded the fans better and did a poor slapdash job on the design and the lettering)But on the whole the stadium looks better until you look at the steelwork which needs a lot of costly tlc which wont get done under these clowns!

They should have done it themselves, whole
Thing was small time and amateurish
:) sad little mag.

Shaping up nicely this thread to have another sly dig at those of us who at the time did a bit for our club....Hindsight's a wonderful thing....I
Me personally, I have the greatest of respect for every fan who turned up even if was for just 20 minutes. I still think it was a good idea but I never got carried away with it all. I saw straight through those 2 and could see they were simply wanting to get it done on the cheap. The result is the main thing, we have new seats and that's all that matters to me.

One thing it shows is just how much so many people care about our club. I didn’t partake myself but one of my mates did. No doubt the chancers were raising a glass to it behind the scenes at the money saved and probably couldn’t believe their luck, but the stadium does look better for it so I still think hats off to the fans who done it. At the end of the day the fanbase will be here long after they’ve fucked off so I still see it being as something for ourselves rather than a favour to save them more money.
I do think these clowns have tarnished our great club and have destroyed the support of many long suffering supporters, (I am amazed at how many have lost faith)I think once we see the makeup of this new ownership i think if don and charlie are still around it will take a lot for many fans to be coaxed back as they have done so much harm to the club ,the fan base and our standing in the game.A clean break from those tossers is needed to heal out club and fan base and anything less will be like putting a poultice on a fracture or a Parky half time teamtalk.

For years we complained about the pink seats, how the lack of investment and pride in our stadium reflected the lack of investment and pride in our club
Then we get a new owner who, as part of a charm offensive gets the seats changed and, yes saves some money by asking supporters to do it, but at the time fans were happy to be involved

Fast forward a couple of years, we all want him out etc, but let's not slag off what was an excellent initiative at the time

Spot on mate. It was rammed. Even if they'd have been minted beyond belief I'd have still gone along.

This is where football falls down for me. Any other sport and that would have been promoted beyond belief as togetherness and a feel good story but football has become consumed by money. Whether they could afford it, and they clearly could, was immaterial. Anyone involved said they enjoyed doing something that gave them direct contact with their club.

If you knew then what you know now would you have given up your time and energy to help the new owners with the renewal?
Must admit that personally I think the SOL looks a lot better. Emptier, even without the virus, but much better
The white corners look crap.

The lettering in the north stand was always just white so they replaced like for like there.

The white corners are actually a clever idea as they won’t fade like the red ones will so won’t need replacing.

One thing they could have done mind is there’s a single row of white seats near the back of the stands they should have run that through in red in the corners but that’s just my ocd.

I dislike these owners but it was a good initiative at the time as the place was looking run down so fair play to those who got involved. Iirc Quinny was asked loads of times to redo the seats and he just said if people fill them you won’t notice they’re pink.

New red seats look topper, not so keen on the white corners, beggars can’t be choosers, it is what it is and we are where we are as the saying goes.
Nobody was harmed in the seat changing (to my knowledge) it was done voluntarily so where’s the harm?
