It's a bit shit IMO and nothing like the real Thailand. Attracts typical brit abroad types in their drives. It's also the most expensive part. Decent enough for island hopping, although Krabi would've been a better bet.

Spending more wise, could easily get by on sixty notes a day.

Average spending money per day mate, spent about 550 between us in 5 days on beer, meals and a couple of boat trips - although we drank red wine which is expensive there for a half decent bottle
Cheers mate.

Stayed here years ago for about twenty quid a night and was really nice.

Also, 7-11 is your friend. Cheap food and cheap beer.
Hotels sorted mate, just spending money is the issue.

So really it's not cheap at all. I would of thought most of us go to South East Asia area to sample the cheap food and beer and a gentle massage

Depends where he stays, there's some amazing hotels in beautiful locations there. we stayed in kata beach which was pretty westernised but no where near as seedy as patong.
can't remember the costs, probably the easiest way to check is look online at menus for the bars/ restaurants near your hotel.

It's karon mate where we are staying.

We didn't want to stay in patong as expected it to be far too busy.

Singha was my drink of choice out there - very nice and about half the price of imported ones such as Heineken, Stella, Amstel etc
Yep, they have pretty heavy import taxes there is believe so the normal brands are very over priced
