Peter Drury on commentary

Give it a couple of years and artificial intelligence should be able to commentate fairly accurately in the style of whoever you want.

So Drury will be down the job centre because an avatar Barry Davies will be doing every f***ing game.

Bring it on.
Oh imagine bringing back Brian Moore from the dead, it's what dreams are made of
Him and Sam Matterface are annoying as fuck, can’t stand the pair of them.
The biggest annoyance for me about Matterface is that he lacks knowledge of the basic rules of the game, the amount of times he questions a referees decision when they have got the decision absolutely spot on is ridiculous

If you notice Matterface has a habit of saying somebody was making an audacious effort on goal when they have actually sliced or miss hit their cross into the keepers arms 😂 it tells you that he’s never played the game and doesn’t understand football.

Are Sky not realising he takes away the enjoyment of the game for a good few? I personally like to hear the crowd’s reaction and think the commentator should be secondary and merely commenting on what is happening - not completely taking over any time the slightest thing happens.
I switched over to Bein’s coverage yesterday as he was driving me mad.
Whilst I completely agree with your take on him as a commentator he seems to generate a load of social media discussion, and Sky's football coverage seems to be increasingly going down the clickbait route with the actual quality of insight on offer being irrelevant. No publicity is bad publicity and all that bollocks.

Neville, Carragher, Keane and Richards clearly have 'images' that they're encouraged to play up to.

Was really hoping this was a bump to say that Sky were binning him off for next season.
At one time Drury was binned off by Sky. They then inexplicably brought him back and made him their number one commentator. He can ruin a game with his flowery nonsense. If Starmer could get him binned again it may give Labour a chance.
