People who don't care about England

Couldn't give a monkeys about the national team, it never caught on for me. Don't see why that calls my patriotism or anything else into question.

Fuck off back.

I'm a Sunderland supporter first and England I'll watch and hope they do well but not that bothered when they don't.

As for if either team win ... I'll compare my feeling from last time I saw Sunderland win anything to the last time I saw England win anything ...

I'll get back to you on that!

Where's your sense of patriotism and pride? The history of England as a nation is immense, something to be proud of. Just because we don't win, play shit football or the manager doesn't pick the players you want, you say you lose interest? Still fuming over last nights results and seeing people on here not bothered is ridiculous tbh. Sunderland never win anything either but we still watch and support them every week no matter what!!!! What's the difference you miserable bastards?

To the people you don't care I have two words ... Fuck off

I'm sorry for not caring about the same things that you do.

I don't feel any real affiliation to the national football team and don't see why everyone automatically should. They are abunch of overpaid and over-hyped arseholes.

It's clear that plenty of people don't equate patriotism with football. Their sense of pride in their nation may come from the technological advances England gave the world, its music, its literature, anything where people from other nationalities look up and respect.

I don't see it as some sort of test, it's not as if it's 'If you don't cry when England lose at football you're not really English.' There's much more to life, and to who people are, than sitting in a pub, or a sofa, or a plastic seat in a concrete bowl, watching other people kick a ball about.

Which is your favourite bit? The bit where we raped and murdered our way across half the world, or the bit where we murdered and raped our way across the other half?

Just kidding, like.

Although you could compare in situation

England qualifying for the world cup vs Sunderland getting promoted to / avoiding relegation from the Premier League - I definately care more about Sunderland than England by a ratio of about 10000

Each to there own and that, I'll never stop supporting them and going to watch them.

Unfortunately we've been dealt a shit hand as both teams we support are for the most part poor, just the way it is though.

Hopefully one day we'll have summit to shout about.

It could be worse. One of our sides is about to begin its eighth (?) consecutive year in arguably the best league in the world, and the other are ranked in the top ten in the world.

It's nothing to do with winning, style of football or having SAFC players in there, it just does absolutely nowt for me. That goes for international football generally - I've only watched 45 minutes of this World Cup and that was the Spain-Holland match whilst I happened to be in a pub.

At the end of the day footballs football, i'll watch any game in any league no matter the level. I play as much of it as I can and I watch as much of it as I can. I just love the game, always have and always will. I even watch the womens football, im a footy fanatic, love Sunderland, love England. Wear me heart on me sleeve for both and honestly don't understand how people can say they don't care, or even worse the people who say they'll be supporting a foreign team instead of England. They can also fuck off

I'm American and I care about England. I know about all the players since they are in the Prem, and half my bloodline is from there. Pull for them every game they are not playing the USMST. Tough draw, but the way this WC is going you have to score more than once a game. Why can't England score goals? On paper this group should be knocking them in for fun.

I know and agree.

I love them both, get pissed when we lose but accept it and move on to the next game.

I'll watch england games and obviously want us to do well. I wasn't bothered or surprised at last night's result though - i expected us to go out after 3 games.

Sunderland every time for me, they are far more important than england underachieving in every tournament we play in

I have so much emotion for Sunderland, and so little for England.

That's just how it is.

I have more for Sunderland but still get emotional watching England, I enjoy watching them live and can't wait for the euros.

I have no problem with anyone at all who doesn't though, as I said in my first post, each to there own. I never abuse anyone who doesn't, that's up to them.

I love my country, and wouldn't live anywhere else, but I don't give a flying fuck about the England football team. I'd quite happily fight for the freedoms this great country has given me, but that has nothing to do with our national team. I don't know why, but I can watch an England game as if I were a neutral.

If Costa Rica win or draw tonight it will be a blessing as it will put the people who do follow England out of their misery before the inevitable humiliation of the knock out stages.
