Penalty on Brobbey

Someone needs to have a word with Brobbey and explain to him he can and should go down when getting fouled especially in the box...

I don’t think there’s a foul either way there to be honest.

You must have missed the fact that if you don’t look at the ball and hold a player in anyway it’s a foul. This has been the case all season.

It’s caused plenty of discussion, because sometimes the holding can been deemed more severe so people have suggested the rule maybe isn’t fit for purpose. There has always been a distinct difference between looking at the ball and not.

However, much like Ballard’s ridiculous red card last week, that’s the rule that has been applied all season.

In fact, isn’t that why we conceded a pen to Fulham at home? I may be misremembering, it just came to mind as I type this.

I'd be spending all summer telling Brobbey to watch videos of the moaners who fall over at the slightest touch as he is too strong for his own good sometimes

Maybe but not on Brobbey
There were two clear penalty calls for the Lads yesterday, one in the first (McGuire) and one in the second (Shaw). I like to watch these so called "Elite Referees" and in particulars the Attwell's and Gillet's of this world. Attwell was looking for Brobbey on every single corner we had. I don't recall Brobbey won a foul , maybe one ,but no more than that. He gave against Brobbey what would,as I stated, anywhere else on the pitch was a foul on McGuire. This when the latter had his arms around Brobbeys Shoulders and neck and then gave a foul against Brobbey. This , just for having the temerity to put an arm on McGuires leg as he was falling to the to ground.
I fully expected yesterday that Attwell was looking to award a penalty in the final minutes and so found it surprising that he booked Chuna for diving (sorry, simulation of diving) only that he probalbly already knew VAR would never have given a penalty after seeing the replays this morning. My opinions, but I suspect not only me. ;)
