Penalty on Brobbey

They were talking about the wrestling farce that goes on at every corner everywhere now in the Liverpool game at lunchtime.

This is the same.

How is that not a foul?

It's like watching the NFL.

I mean he gets rugby tackled , but ok.
They’ve both got a hold of each other although no doubt Shaw grabs him first. Brobbey needs to get smarter in these situations but he invariably ends up wrestling with the defenders as can be seen on your screenshots.

I was in the South stand and its looked a pen but seeing the highlights wow how that ref cant see that shocking isnt he the same ref that got pelters for the cup game at villa park with no var

Two wrongs don't make a right. The PL ref view seems to be that they do and that's why we've got the corner fiasco every time.

That's a clear foul. Once you turn your back on the ball and grab/push someone, that's a clear foul.

Told the bairn VAR will always favour the big club - 2 decisions today proved that right. (haven't seen the Amad handball yet mind)

Brobby needs to learn when to dive.

He gets nowt because he stands his ground and fights back and so they always say it’s ’mutual holding’. But in an incident like this one where the holding was entirely from the United player, Brobby needs to learn to go down and force the referees hand, rather than fight back and overpower the United player.

It was clear as day there was no attempt to play the ball from the United player and so it should have been a pen, but Brobby gave Atwel the excuse he wanted to give United the decision.

He doesn’t even need to dive, he just needs to learn when he should intentionally reduce the strength during a dual and the defender will take him down. Mentioned in another thread that Drogba was an expert at this.
