They don't sell that stuff in Aldi's or Lidl's down south here. They do sell a blue tin of the stuff mind in other shops.I bought 10 cartons from aldi to take up to our friends in Glasgow. Mental how its not sold up there. They also cant get rolls of pork crackling or stotties up there.

I've never made it myself so I'm going to have to try to do it. I'm guessing the homemade stuff is way better than the tinned stuff? I love doing a Gammon and red lentil stew like my Mam used to make so i could try to do something with that this weekend. Any tips appreciated. You have to make your own down here.
I make enough to fill a bucket. I recently bought a brewing shovel. My mate found someone in Bethnal Green who makes it to order and he gets buckets full of the stuff.
Crackers.

on the hob simmer?125g Butter
3 shallots
2 garlic cloves
2 rashers smoked bacon
125g green split peas soaked overnight in cold water
125g yellow split peas soaked
Pint of chicken stock
Handfull of parsley
Roughly chop the shallot, garlic, bacon. Saute, add everything else and cook for 40 minutes simmer. Add parsley and a squeeze of lemon at the end.
Much better than what anyone else makes.
