Great shot stopper could possibly question where he pushes it some of the time but he does the first part very well.

Distribution may be Sunday League standard and some of his decision making is questionable. Very lucky not to get caught on the ball tonight on his line.

Never expect him to come and burst through a crowd of players and claim corners etc which I don't like about him. Could do with being more commanding. Would like to see more of them brave takes like tonight in the last minute.

Overall your probably above average Champ goalie. These days you need to be good with your distribution/quick with your feet to be a top top goalie.

See the one lovely ball he played to Hume first half on the right to lead to to a quick counter and we got a shot off on target. We don't see that enough due to his often poor kicking what ends in the first few rows.
I nearly shat meself when he did that.

Only took 2 mins 45 seconds for him to kick into touch but other than the hairy moment late in the 1st half he had a good game.

Patterson takes on passes with his left and right foot that most keepers won't even try. People talk about the ball at his feet as his weak spot, I personally think its one of his strengths.

Yes, he finds touch occasionally, but he also splits opposition defences with ease and doesn't allow teams to rattle him with high pressing tactics. He regularly hits cross field balls left to right and right to left off either foot. Very, very few keepers will try it, let alone succeed with it.

He could perhaps stand to be a bit more commanding in the box, but overall I think he's a massive asset to the team.

Careful, you may get slagged off for being sensible 😉

He’s turning into a bob hesford flying pig
He looks overweight
Patto's weight seems to becoming that latest stick to beat the lad with. I don't think he's overweight at all because first and foremost these days it wouldn't be tolerated in any player by any Club . Patto is quite simply a bloody big bloke and as he get older that will become even more apparent

He's an accomplished shot stopper but his kicking could be better . I think that he might just be trying too hard with it. He needs to relax a bit - he's hooking the ball because he's too tense. I am sure however that it will come good.

The criticism of him being poor with his feet is never really going to end with whoever else we had id say because it's the championship. Keepers with great feet are sought after and will play higher up the food chain.

Ipswich signed muric who went down with burnley and was seen as better with his feet. They've gone back to the lanky keeper they got 2 promotions with who's awful with the ball

It isn't his strength but he's being asked to do it. He's following instructions of the head coach and his team. Plus when you're trying to pick a winger or full back out on the touchline the margin of error is very small. Hopefully the whinging and groaning when he's doing what's asked of him will stop, it's helping nee one

I agree tbh. Was funny the other week when people complained it was too windy to go to the match but then Patterson still got stick for his kicks out wide in a storm

For me he’s over weight and just not good enough. He’s the weak link in my opinion. I’ll take the pelters but he’s clearly not commanding his area and his punts up field don’t make it up field. Every where else we look ok.
He makes less mistakes than at least two of our centre backs. He isn't the weak link
You don't have to rate him highly but he simply isn't the weak link

Top goalie - will play at the highest level!
He won’t no chance. He won’t play in a major cup final win a premier league start a European final or play international football regularly at any point. Trust me. Pickford left us at 21/22 yrs old Patterson is still here for a reason at nearly 25. Top keepers get picked up early. He’s gone backwards in 18 months

He’ll be an EPL keeper - hopefully with us!

The last few matches, Patto has hardly put a foot wrong. His distribution, especially delivering long balls to the wings is still in need of work but his command of the area and decisiveness in the box have been wonderful lately.
