I sit amongst some weapons grade ball bags. There were people going mental with the kid moments after his penalty save for poor kick from his feet.
What do people actually want from him? He’s an exceptionally good shot stopper and physical presence (after being griefed for being too lightweight the same clueless ***** now call him fat!).
His distribution isn’t great. It never has been and won’t likely improve a great deal overnight. Very few keepers at this level (or lower league prem) do have great distribution.
Get off his f***ing back. Booing fuck out of him for every bad kick won’t turn him into Pickford.

At times it’s like he’s almost too confident though which I don’t get. He himself never looks panicked. It’s everyone else that’s shitting themselves! 😂
Not a bad trait for a keeper to have to be fair, even when he saved a penalty he could only a muster a little fist pump I want to see him score a late winner because I'm sure he'd just slowly jog back into his goal.

Don't get me wrong, I think realistically Matty Young is our long term No.1 (as long as we keep hold of him) but Patto is still a very good keeper for this level.

I think some people don't rate him that highly simply because he's not flamboyant and just tries to do the simple things, although I do have my heart in my mouth when I see an attacker aggressively closing him down mind.

At times his distribution was shocking tonight but I think it helped having Alese at LB because them 30 yard chipped balls to the halfway line more often than not found his head if they were in any way accurate.

Did well tonight, but fuck me we need to stop giving him the ball to play out from the back. Cracking penalty save though

For me he’s over weight and just not good enough. He’s the weak link in my opinion. I’ll take the pelters but he’s clearly not commanding his area and his punts up field don’t make it up field. Every where else we look ok.
Aged well

He’s not fat he’s just big boned! 😂

I wish he would stop with the foot on top of the ball like he’s Ederson who is elite on the ball and when he looks up he has 4 passes to make!

But I’ve been crying out for Patterson to put his body on the line and he done that at the death tonight 👏

Not even remotely true. Whilst his distribution is not the best, it is improving.
Some people just see what they want to see.
Atrocious distribution when he aims wide, no one can argue against that surely. I’d much rather he put it down the middle as it’s a 50/50 ball then.

Mixed bag. Great shot-stopping and penalty save. Distribution can sometimes be weak and he almost lost it on the goal line pissing about. He'd have been a great keeper in the old days but I don't think he is a good enough footballer to make it at the top in the modern game.

I don’t see anything different in what you say about most keepers in this division.
He’s a very good keeper at this level and he’s homegrown.
Stars bare that out if you can’t see it
We should be pleased.
