Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Shame for the lad. Has played his part over the years with some key contributions.

Thought he might have still had some worth to the squad from the bench but, as with the rest of last years starters that have been usurped, there's no sentiment in the sport

Name wingers who lose the ball more than he does?

Its difficult

He played against Huddersfield the other night, and he lost the ball every single time he got it. Im not exaggerating. He lost the ball every single time
Aiden O'brien
Duncan Watmore
Victor Anichebe
Callum McManaman
Kazenga Lua Lua

All from the banter years were far, far worse than him.

It was time for him to go. Been largely ineffective for a long time apart from odd bright moments, including his pass in the final which we will watch for a long time.

This has been on the cards since we tried to get Edwards ahead of Burnley in January.

Anyone thinking he can do it in the Premier after him absolutely not doing it in the championship last season is living in a different universe.
I’m not saying he’s Premier League quality, but think you’re being a bit harsh on him there. 2 goals & 8 assists last season. We all wanted that bit more from him, but to say he was “absolutely not doing it” is wrong.

He averages 1 goal OR assist in every 9 games!

And you're talking about a player who has played consistently in arguably sunderlands worst few years in the football league.

Most seasons hes played for us we have been pushing for promotion with him as part of a front 3.

9 goals in 4 seasons is shocking.

Id love to see his stats for possession lost, hes shocking!

Two of the biggest moments in the clubs recent history and although he could be frustrating as hell a lot of the time, he was a player for the big occasion.

He goes to Birmingham this season with my best wishes, a massive thank you and I hope he does well for them.
