Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

He's pretty crap and not good enough for the PL. Needs replacing.
He has been. He's played around 20 minutes of premier league football this season.

I just don't think there is any reason to single him out, always gives the required effort, one of our best performers for goal contributions last season. And against Huddersfield he was one of our best players but some are so entrenched in dislike they can't see it and say the exact opposite.

His finishing is very poor for an attacking player I think most would agree on that, but he is not deserving of criticism for no real reason. My opinion anyway.
Against a LEAGUE ONE TEAM ffs
And? What point are you making?

It took Roberts 73 minutes to put a decent delivery in to the box against Huddersfield, and I've never seen a player scuff so many shots on goal as him. For a winger his assists and goals per game stats are lifting tbf.

He got ten direct goal contributions in 48 appearances. So one every 4.8 matches. And his main attribute is assisting the assister as he draws many defenders to him due to his dribbling ability. But this is not measured in basic stats fans see. The coaching staff and analysts who are very well paid to look a this stuff do. There's a reason he is consistently picked by all of our head coaches. Do you think fans on the SMB know more than people who actually work for SAFC?

I have already said his finishing is poor, I don't think that is in dispute. If he could finish better he would never have been playing outside and he top flight.

And those people at the club have now decided they need better players. He could be 3rd choice by Monday.

They were shite against a league one team. That’s my point
Good point. Highlights how bad the other attackers were doesnt it? No? Just roberts?
Correct.. none of them are good enough. As I’ve said countless times regarding prem.

Oh and don’t make out Roberts stood out because he didn’t. Did naff all like the rest of them.

He's not everyone's cup of tea but the manager saw fit to start him in most games last season.

If Sunderland received a suitable offer I think he'd be allowed to go.

If he stays I can see him featuring when the inevitable injuries and suspensions bite

Will end up at Stoke
If he were to be sold in the next few days, I'd expect it to be to a Southampton, Ipswich, Rangers / Celtic type of team.

And he'd be a very good signing for them.

He could be.

Equally he could be starting games soon if we don't sign reinforcements, and Talbi keeps playing as he did today.

Talbi is putting in better performances than Roberts could.

Most assists in SAFC's promotion-winning team last season, including a corker in the play-off final.

Debatable so far.
