Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

In the stadium it seemed loads couldn't wait to have a go at him as soon as he got the ball, almost willing him to lose it, pathetic.

Thought he went on some brilliant runs and looked our best player. End product is of course the problem but tonight he also pulled some nice balls back across the box and could feel aggrieved no one was on the end of them.
In the stadium you could have said that for a few players tonight. Prejudged opinions rather than what was happening on the pitch

The OP loves a good Robert’s bash , recons he was 2nd worst tonight behind Huggins yet the poll on here has him 3rd highest score of the night
This went well.

He was much more effective from the RW in the 2nd half. Its the only position he's even close to competent in. He plays there or nowhere.

First half struggled a lot, not exactly surprising though with him being out on the left

Second half had some canny dribbles but the pass across the box was poor each time

He's fine as an option for a cameo imo but we could definitely with/probably are looking at another rw option

Oh it's ok playing shit for 90 minutes then
Didn’t play shit for 90 minutes though did he.

He was very frustrating tonight. Some poor passes and running into trouble.

Equally he was involved in most of our best play and pulled off some excellent skill and passes.

Both things can be true. If you can’t see the positive aspects of his performance then you’re blinkered.

No end product

I was there and I thought he was incredibly frustrating. Forget the first half he clearly didn’t suit wide left. But the amount of opportunities he wasted second half was not good enough. He lost the ball a number of times trying to beat too many defenders. He managed one excellent cross that Geue should have headed in . But too many times his final ball unerringly went straight to a Huddersfield player. Remember he was playing against Lge1 opposition. I honestly would be happy if we offloaded him before the window shuts as long as we sign another winger.
