Pathetic and embarrassing chanting

Neither have I, but chants of this nature have been part of football for at least the last 50 years I've attended games. I'm old enough to remember the Charlie George superstar chants and similar in the 70s. I doubt any of those singing about charlie wyke last night really think he's a sex offender and were no doubt signing his praises when he played for us.
It was "Supermac superstar" for us.

I get where the op is coming from but would be very surprised if he or she did not do anything that looking back, probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, when they were 17/18 and pissed.

I get what your saying and again I don't disagree with your point one bit, however times have changed and I have seen op on here saying they (the young lads chanting) should have been confronted or get a clip, however, times have changed and other fans/police etc can't do that anymore or they'll be locked up. TBH, personally I hear less and less stupid/obscene chanting these days, however that's not condoning those that still doing it..
The copper didn't give me a clip he said if I continued I'd be nicked, to a young stupid me that was enough.
I'd like to think that by the OP raising the debate on here today there might just be a few fans who were singing it last night reflect on it and agree it's a bit embarrassing and don't partake next time.
Highly unlikely I know but if it's not challenged it will continue to be " it's the way it is, if you don't like it don't go"

Always some moany bastard to find something to moan about get over it Jesus let’s take it back years to violence and what not

I imagine this happens at a lot of clubs with songs being filmed and instantly online nowadays

yep also success and general optimism breeds new content. Frankly if the teams average and grinding out results people tend not to feel inspired about new songs. Hopefully if we start playing with a bit of panache a new songbook might gradually emerge. Extra large away followings tend to be a catalyst anarl

Are you sure you’ve been to a football match before? I know you’ve said you had, but honestly this reads like you haven’t.

Bowls might suit you better.

I've been to many over my years.
The fact that we have some dipshits as obsessed with McClean now as they were when I went to West Brom away and had to have a word with some kids who started the IRA shite before we'd even kicked a ball, speaks volumes.
How many were singing, was there anything said to the morons?

A lot. A big portion of our contingent.
And, I doubt it. You ever tried reasoning with a mob?
Start getting your facts right before saying we had a paedophile playing for us. Yes, he committed an idiotic offence - but he certainly was NOT involved with pre-pubescent children - therefore NOT a paedophile.

And you talk about folks being "as thick as a submarine door..." Pot. Kettle. Black anyone?

I'd agree with you, but the law says he is.

Agree with the OP, was embarrassing!

Class when we sang proper songs, especially at the end!

This.
Breaking out Niall Quinn's Disco Pants and Super Kevin Philips(y - for some of you) was brilliant.
So why are people saying he shouldn’t go and getting narked about him raising it?

Read that as "getting naked".
As does everyone else?

They do yes, but perhaps they should think about what they're saying/chanting.
It doesn't paint us collectively in a good light.
