PAT Testing

Ok so the PAT testing didn’t go to plan. They’ve failed the kettle, the iron and the only TV we have. So we’re reduced to drinking plain water, wearing wrinkled clothes (we have a lot of linen summer clothes) and watching TV on our iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s, respectively. Definitely not what we expected, but that’s the price to pay to keep you’re family safe.

Anyway, we’re going to the metro centre on bank holiday Monday to buy a new kettle, new iron and a new TV. Wish us luck because our budget for all the gizmos is £200, after paying for the PAT testing and the PAT tester bonus.
Buy a couple of circuit breaker plugs for about a fiver if you're that paranoid. Failing that your fuses would pop if there was any danger.

You're literally pissing good money up the wall.

just sounds like a complete windup.
at 12.14pm on 29/4/25 a thread is created asking if anybody knows or recommends a pat tester as he was to be charged thousands.

at 6.52 pm on 1/5/25. he posts a thread to say somebody has been out and condemned items. He cannot replace these items unto 5/5/25.

so after 54 hours at a guess, he has decided the company or odd job man, to do the testing. they have been able to fit him immediately and they condemned (???) 3 items

Has to drink ordinary water (???) is this because his kettle failed.
wear crumpled clothes as iron failed. (was the clothes not already ironed before being put away) but that was just hours if the items have failed, so should not need to be walking about in crumpled clothes.
Needs to watch tv on other hand held devices.

Has only £200 spare to replace failed items, I would question that.

does he live in that wilds away from argos, asda, sainsburys etc, where they will even deliver for you if you cant be bothered to go

a good attempt at a wind up I would say

It was always a wind up. No one does this even PAT testers.

We will only have £200 spare as we’ve just paid £365 for the PAT testing and also paid them a PAT tester bonus, which is completely standard practice. Now we need to replace expensive electrical items…so we’re on a budget. Not everyone is seemingly a millionaire like you. We’re rich in PAT testing safety.

Bore off man you clown

Just done a load of quotes and it turns out about £2k is the going rate, unless you’re willing to hire the type of monster that puts sugar on his cornflakes.

One guy said he’d do it for £700 as it would only take “about an hour”. I said hold up buddy boy, this is not my first rodeo. You’re not coming round my house PAT testing with that sort of attitude.
An absolutely bizarre attempt at a wind up this mind.
