Passing on tickets to gain points

Not sure that's much of an issue nowadays as you cannot buy or transfer a concession to an adult account number.
Makes no odds. Add the child’s ticket to a phone or qr code.
I’ve seen that happen.
I stood in the south stand last season I think with my pint. It was rife. Loads of 25-50 year old blokes coming in on kids tickets. It was like every other entry.

Same people will complain we don’t spend money.

Thats the thing, there will be people doing it and it's so hard to police, but in reality how many are we talking? 50/100 people? They also run the risk of buying tickets for 'less popular games' that make it to GS etc and not being able to sell them on I suppose.
that happened with preston. there were tons getting punted for 20 quid. so many people had 'last minute' plan changes

Fair enough, wouldn't have thought there'd be that many doing it compared to before

There's a myth now firmly in place that everyone on high points doesn't actually go to away games, but farms their number out. It's bollocks. The majority of people with the points go to the games.
This....a sweeping statement by the OP which I would say is quite incorrect :-

"There seems to be a lot of people with high points getting away tickets and passing them on."

....what is classified as "a lot" and what evidence is there other than a FB group which has been closed down?

The OP's argument or similar was highlighted to the club and then we got the ridiculous ballot which actually hampered people trying to build up LP by hoying everyone in together under 30 points!

Should be a reducing LP limit from initial sale in batches of 5 LP's...only fair way imo.

people are going on like we are man united and have 20,000 fans applying for each away game.

Millwall away just went to season ticket holders with 0 points.

If you have just bought a season ticket this season and don’t have any points you can still get to 8/9 away games each season. Compared to some other clubs that’s amazing.

It’s the same argument all the time , this only comes about when certain people can’t pick and choose the local games they want to go to.

It’s boring .

Millwall wouldn't have got close to STH with zero points if phases were done in a better manner. 25 to 0 is just mad.

I think branches sorting it’s members and people buying them just to sell on for the point is totally different mind.

We aren’t capable of doing 3 phases right now . We have no chance with dropping it by 5 points each time.

The club want to get rid of the tickets asap. They are happy when the sold out sign goes up so their work is done.

Look at Preston last week was well over 100 picking up tickets at Preston ticket office, we even had to send our own staff down.

Like I said , the ticket office just want rid of the tickets , don’t care who gets them , as soon as they are sold the better

Buy then again , you say that it would never of got to 0 points and the drop was big but they were on sale for 2 half hours before it sold out yesterday.

Sledgehammer to crack a nut I think.

The thumb print thing is completely unworkable and will never happen (how do we convince every other club to invest in thumb print scanners?). ID checks would be a massive pain in the arse when everyone turns up at 2:55pm pissed.

The branches essentially sell ticket and travel packages using accounts people with high numbers. It isn't ideal but the alternative is they'd never be about to fill a bus and everyone would suffer. It's a fairly minor issue that would have massive implications.

correct. people just fuckin twist on because they don't get boro or sheff utd tickets but can't be arsed to schlep to swansea midweek.
It worse than that though. Not only do we have to listen to their whingeing, but they are also suggesting that those who do schlep to Swansea for a midweek game should be obliged to make sure they remember to take their driving license, and to queue up at the ticket office for half an hour to collect a bit of paper before they get in.

We already have to do that occasionally when our glorious ticket office buggers things up. It’s a right pain in the arse. If we have to start doing that every time just so someone has a slightly higher chance of going to Boro once a year I’m done with it.

👏 sitting on a bus for 6 hours to the queue up to pick a ticket up that would of been on general sale for a week .

It’s not a closed shop , if we were selling out every away game on high points then fair enough…. But we not

My branch doesn’t always have a bus on but they'll sort tickets for anyone who wants one if they’re a member. We’ve got loads of members who don’t even have season tickets. Just the way it’s always been.

And people lending numbers to mates has been a thing since Noah put a donkey on a boat.
This isn’t a new thing, dunno what people are getting so het up about it

Technology is moving on all the time. 10 years ago who’d have thought we’d have season tickets on our phones

And before that it was a pad of paper and you tore a page off each week and gave it to the turnstile person
Should bring back the paper pads nothing more than for the reason of fans chucking them towards the dugout towards the end of the season when their team is doing crap

add to that: it takes two to tango. if nobody asked and refused to buy the alleged unneeded tickets, then those not going would soon stop buying them after being left holding the tickets and be out of pocket.

however, people are inherently greedy and will always try to get one over on others.

which brings us to the OP. Either get a mate with a load of points or join a branch

Nar it’s rife. It’s shit. We’re all paying hundreds a year to support the lads and there’s people getting in for pennies. It needs proper policing. But they’ll do it once and then it’ll be back to normal.
