i still feel england are ahead in this game. thats 12 wickets falling in a day and 3/4.

pitch will deteriate and i feel monty and swann will take a canny few in their second innings

cook approaching another ton. how many does that put him on now?

will be 20 if gets it, 15 to go

You will be paying out in 2015

Good knock from Trott but that could be a massive wicket. Hard to get in early so could be 2 or 3 quick ones if we arent careful.

here we go.....

Bell better have learnt which one is the doosra or we might not get past 250

all he has to do is look for the throw.

as i said as i said befire cook went, get 1 and they will get 2 or 3 quick ones.

We prob wont reach their total here

Pietersen gone

Im sorry but the arrogance or naivety on here that we would easily get 400

When will people realise winning tests in Asia has always been a bug bear and this England side have achieved nothing over the last 12-18 months in Asia bar a 5-0 drubbing in a one day series in India

Send them all to the IPL FFS or we will never improve. England U19 are struggling against their Bangladesh counterparts in this part of the world which says it all.

Ive called it spot on thus far 8-)

Its shocking how neither Cook or Trott managed to go BIG. they were well and truly in. much more difficult for a new man in these conditions.

Trott did remarkably well to get 70 odd as he isnt very good against spin

If you refer to my 'James Anderson' thread I told who would need to get the runs, one did the other didnt.

Morgan gone and Bell is a walking wicket

The amount of appealing by the Pakistan team is tedious bordering on disgraceful, they sound like they are a load of teenagers being castrated.

Morgan was prodding around like a right pudding there

Prior in next though, at the least he as a bit of bottle.

stumps.

Englands old failings back to the fore.

Unless we can get past 300 the series is over as England batting last on this wont get more than 150 in their second innings

Hardly any of them can still pick Ajmal which calls into question Andy Flower position as coach

Has any coach in world cricket been removed from his position due to the ability of the batsmen not being able to pick one particular bowler?

Furthermore, should it not be the batting coach whose position should be called into question?

I believe Flower to be all hype and very little substance.

Central contracts have done more for this England team than Andy Flower, who will eventually get found out as being a limited coach.

If Flower was such a good coach why are we so shit at ODI because Fletcher never gave two shits about it and we are still the shambolic mess in that we have always been.

We are a half decent test side these days because Fletcher fought really hard to keep our seamers out of county cricket and we have inherited two South Africans with test averages above 50 (notably the only two batsman we have with an average above this)

We are a very good test side and an average ODI side (relatively strong at home and weak away - like most nations).

Andy Flower has done a very good job. Number 1 ranked test team, a world 20/20 trophy, an away victory in Australia and of I'm not mistaken were unbeaten in a test series under Flower (feel free to correct me if wrong).

He won't be removed from his post due to inability of batsmen to play one spinner (as you earlier suggested) and quite righty so.

They are.

Grow up man will ya FFS

and to think some on here were putting the first test down to rust.

How can you have rankings like this. If England lose 3-0 which is a possibility we will be down to 4th I would suggest

South Africa - 28 games

England - 37 (which will be 40 come the end of this series)

Indeed, when we lose 2/3 series in a row then maybe people (no knee jerkers) may start to ask questions. This winter will be a good lesson for all the England players win lose or draw. As we a are a young team it will do nothing but benefit them for the future.

NB I though the test cricket on display overall today was excellent, in particular the aging chucker at the end.
