Don't worry lads. We will dominate a poor team in May in English conditions on a green top and all will be well again.

Not one to advocate wholesale changes but something needs to be done.

Need to blood in a new, young opener from the get go in the summer; but who? Lees? Root?

A decision needs to be made about Prior. Keep him (I say yes) or get Bairstow in as permenant replacement now? Maybe an "attacking" keeper/batsman in the mould of Gilchrist. Keiswetter?

The spin department needs sorting. Monty isn't a "bowl them out" spinner so isn't the answer. Years ago it would have been Samit Patel or Adil Rashid but neither have kicked on. Tredwell would be a stopgap, albeit the best there is at the moment. Dare they take a risk on Borthwick?

Anderson is a delicate point, clearly coming towards the end of his career even with a few years left but at a greater risk if burning out now. Phase him out in a rotational basis with Finn?

Alternatively, we could not do hay forward planning and be shocked when we are shitter than now when several key players retire at the same point.

I watched the first sesssion and we were batting pretty comfortably with a growing lead (although Carberry could hardly score a run). I then turn on the PC this morning, log on to Cricinfo and am greeted with the headline "Feckless England collapse again".

What an absolute disgraceful heap of bollocks. This will end 5-0 now, no mistake.

The Aussies have done nothing sophisicated in this series. They have just shown good old fashioned aggression and gone after England. This (together with England's deficiencies) has been more than enough.

I maintain that this is not that good an Aussie team. SA will beat them in their forthcoming series. However, our lot have been lambs to the slaughter as if we've never seen fast bowling or a bit of aggression before. We look like rabbits in the headlights.

What the hell Flower and Gooch have been doing all tour I do not know. Saying that, the experienced players on the park have to take some responsibility too. It's been an all around shambles.

agreed, they have done nowt wrong,

all they English players can do is complain about it.. Whoever replaces Flower needs some passion (If Giles gets it I cant see him being a success).
