Our last league win at Anfield

I've seen some so they exist.

The Scousers took offence at us being there, for some reason, and dished out a few sly digs ...... when we 'found each other' no one came near us and the polis wanted us out.

They tried to force us outside but we refused so they took us to the bottom left corner of the Kop and took us onto the running track.

As we walked along the side, past their stand, a few came over but we just growled and they shit their pants. As we neared the away section a chant started up and grew louder & louder so we raised our arms and joined in ...... even the Scousers were grinning and applauding.

That kind of thing will never happen again.

100 pc defo happened, I was there as stayed with mate at liverpool uni.
@Porridge pissed on two pints as usual.
Could not believe how many Safc were in kop being marched to our dangerously packed end. Was even more being marched round pitch than Boro 81 Hedley game.

I was at that one was that our last win there?!
Don't mention this to JB he's only just forgiven me for making him miss it:lol:

We stayed over the night before and got a service bus with the scousers first time id ever seen bus drivers in a cage! We thought hell it must be rough as fuck down here

We started off in the Kop, with around 500 lads who gradually found each other ...... being marched along the touchline to the away end was something I'll never forget.
Isn't it "funny" that Newcastle did that in the FE in 85 and said they took it, yet u never ever hear any sunlun fans say we "took" the kop despite being in longer. Modesty wins over arrogance yet again.

I am sure this was match we needed points to stay up, Liverpool either had league or had little

Was this the match we needed points to stay up and Liverpool either had won league or 2 nd? Coz I was behind goal when Ray Kennedy had an open goal and he screwed his shot .He looked at us ,winked and smiled...both him and Bob Paisley from Hetton if memory serves me well..same match took my young nephew from The Ra, he wasn't ower bright;) and when he went for pie or loss he came back a tad dishevelled and bruised minus scarf. He thought the howling mob behind the fence were Sunlund lads so he accepted their helpful hands in friendship as they tried to pull him over and give him a warmer Scouse welcome...you have to learn sometime...great day, massive support...Bob Paisley was correct, but he was the steward that day!
Kennedy was a Penshaw lad, I think it was Weardale he grew up in, ran up the hill opposite me Gran's, which was the top of Allendale.

I don't want to derail the thread mate but, I have to say, everything I post is 100% true as far as I can recall.

There's a few snide posters who take delight in knocking these old stories and making out people are liars and fantasists.

A bit sad but typical of people who live dreary lives and can't comprehend what some of us experienced ;)

Keep on giving your 70s recollections on here aslads like me from that era enjoy them.
It's not glorifying anything, it's just how it was.

I was in the Fulwell End that day and no one had a clue they were in until they were jumping onto the running track.

At Liverpool we had our colours on and sang. I can't speak for the other lads, there were just 2 of us from Mansfield, but the general feeling was that we were happy to stay there for the whole game. It was the police who wanted us out.

In some ways I wish they'd left us there, it would've been class when we scored

I somehow don't think our fans will be chanting "Geordie" at Henderson today.

Saw it plenty of times at various grounds though i never did it myself, went to a lot of away games in those days and many a time there would be home fans in our bit too, rarely did they get bother either if they didnt bother our lot.

Class memories, love it.

IMSC similar incidents happened in 190/91 Liverpool game & 1993 Sheff Wed FA Cup game e.g. massive amount of visible lads in their kops. Not sure what happened to the bunch at Liverpool but the Sheff Wed game they got put in a unused terrace section on the left of the leppings lane end.

A lot ended up in the Kop because our part of the Anfield Road end was that full you couldn't get anyone else in - we should have just had the whole end that day. There's also no we took the Luton end the year of the fans ban - we just found it amusing how many got in on their own wits.
